My far-and-away favorite of the Discworld books so far (but one that would not be enjoyed as much without having read the rest, especially the other Death and Rincewind books). Pratchett's thoughts on time, death, and love make this, for me, his "deepest" and most enjoyable novel. There is all of the provincial humor, crude jokes, plays on words, and references to our world, but with a lot more to chew on for the reader who wants more than pulp.

I think that the Death series (probably because of the subject focus of Death, Time, and Mortality, always a fun exercise) is going to be my favorite. Hence the very rare 5-star rating from me.

If you have casual familiarity with Discworld and have read Mort before Reaper Man, and are looking for a good not-too-serious treatment of the above subjects, I recommend this book.

Enjoyed it more the second time.

This one was a bit more uneven. There were really great parts and then periods that were meh. But overall, it was good and, as usual, witty and occasionally thought-provoking.
