Reaper Man ~ Terry Pratchett 4.5/5

Characters - amazing as always. Death is one of my favourites and the || Fresh Start Club || warmed my heart and made me laugh. I loved || Modo and his compost || 5/5

Plot - Loved the death plot (LOVED IT) but the || mall || was definitely a point in time satire that doesn’t quite land today || although I might have felt differently when I was working at a toy store in a mall about a decade ago ||. I understood it but I didn’t quite get the point. 3.5/5

Setting - It’s Discworld. It doesn’t get better. 5/5

Impact - Hit me right in the feels and gave me cosy vibes through out. Thought provoking at times too (The Josh Kirby art for this one is imho his best and adds to this. I’m considering getting a print) 4/5

Prose - classic Pratchett which I usually rate around 4-4.5/5. I enjoy it enough to plan to read the entire Discworld (this was #11) but it is dense and slows me down (because every world is so carefully crafted), sometimes I just want a page that I don’t have to concentrate on.

Looking forward to starting Witches Abroad in the near future!

This one was really flipping good for real
The book's plot centres on 2 interwoven tales; one of death getting a better understanding of humanity once he has been let go from his duty of being the grim reaper, becoming a mortal, and another of a dead wizard realising his potential only in death, and how much time he wasted when he was alive (I can see why some may find his parts boring but I really enjoyed them). Won't go on a tangent but I felt each element in this book came together very well to present a really poignant story, that I feel is much more sombre than many other discworld titles, with the only competition of the ones I've read being Night Watch – despite its more sombre tone, Terry Pratchett maintains the classic discworld humour throughout the novel without it ever feeling out of place. Soooo read it yuh

Much better than the previous book, Mort. I really enjoyed the story and it followed Death more as well. Overall a very enjoyable read with great humour.

This book was a slow start for me, I didn't find myself caring for Windle Poons and the other wizards but the back end of this book is just wonderful and completely drew me in.

What can the harvest hope for, if not for the care of the reaper man?
