I have so much respect for Jonathan. That respect only grows the more I see of them and their work. This book reads like half memoir, half research essay. It’s a collection of essays that tie together nicely but could also easily each be read on their own as a standalone piece. Every topic they write about also ties back to some part of their own story, which they share vulnerably about. I laughed and at points felt moved to tears. I would highly recommend this to others, and I can see myself pointing other people to individual chapters/essays as a helpful resource for each given topic.

I am a big Queer Eye and JVN fan so I was interested to see how his books were. This was a quick book that I read in a day. It was filled with humor and musings on many different topics. Some parts I related to more than others. The only thing I wasn’t sure about was how dark this book was. Wasn’t expecting that one chapter and I thought it would be more lighthearted. Interesting read though.
