I really wanted to like this book. But I just found it really slow and boring and just couldn’t get into it. I don’t know if I’m just not in the mind space for it as normally I’d enjoy books like this or if I just don’t like it. So I may reread it in the future.
This is just my honest opinion though, other readers may enjoy this one and it’s definitely worth a read. But it’s not for me.

This book was weird and gross and I loved it!
Writing: I found the writing very well done. Everything was described in a really good way and not overdone. While it was a horror it didn't get too graphic in the descriptions.
Characters: Even though our MC was kind of an unreliable narrator I still liked her. I didn't really care for many of the other people other than her sister.
Story: Wow what a weird, disturbing story! I loved it though and the horror wasn't too much.
Overall: If you aren't squeamish about horror, especially eyes, then I recommend it!

Just okay. I thought the premise was strong, focusing on the difficulties around being from a family of Korean immigrants, and the racism and fetishization one often experiences.
I thought the characters didn't really behave as any real person would. They felt like caricatures, with very little nuance. The characters also were very dense, with a shocking lack of concern or urgency surrounding the various plot beats of the book.
