Just going to dive straight into this review. I knew this would be an emotional, mental health-focused read going in, but aside from that, I went in pretty blind. This ended up being a three-star read for me. I think I missed the mark with this one and felt disconnected from the storyline.

It was fast-paced, very character-driven with minimal plot, and heavily centered on mental health. I grew up watching shows and documentaries, and I’ve had people around me struggle with mental health, but due to the fast pace and the characters’ muddled, all-over-the-place thoughts and emotions, I struggled to connect. I feel like this is partly due to my own lack of understanding and knowledge.

That said, I did feel the emotional rollercoaster—it just wasn’t strong enough to make the story memorable for me.

I also wish we had gotten more background on Wynn and Lanston; I don’t think there was enough development there. With Liam, though, we got a lot more depth. Also, what heart condition does Wynn have? Either I missed it, or it wasn’t actually mentioned—aside from “I have a bad heart” and that she takes medication.

Lastly, the narration was okay but didn’t quite work for me—especially when voicing the character behind what had been going on. It came off as quite cringe, if I’m honest.

I went into this with high hopes, but unfortunately, it fell flat for me.

This was... unhinged, lollll. Had I not been warned how wild this book is, I probably would have DNF'd, but since I was prepared, I was vibing. There were a lot of plot holes, and the insta-love was a little crazy. The plot twists? Wild, too, lol. I just feel like it was a little all over the place, but overall, it was still an entertaining read, as long as you don’t expect much from it.

And, hey, I still cried at the end, so there’s that, LOL.
