This is the story that I have been waiting for because for two books we watched the interaction between Bryce and Kaegan. Bryce is a town sweetheart and Kaegan was the kid with a hard past. The two of them bonded during the time Vashti was away but they also broke up under suspicious circumstances. You know from the start that the two of them are meant to be together; however, as the story progresses things are revealed and understandings come around. I think that the premise of the story is good but the fact that I received an early copy there were too many errors to overlook. I really hope that the story is revised and reformatted before being release to the rest of the world.

Cringe.
Found this book at a used book store had no idea what it would be about. I actually had to stop reading it. Fifty shades of grey meets the notebook. Hard pass

Sad to say I didn’t enjoy this book. It dragged. Much of the story was a redundant rehashing of the past.

Didn't realize this was a part of a "series"

The relationship between Bryce and Kaegen has been a thread through the other books in this series. Formerly high school sweethearts, Bryce and Kaegan had a falling out when he misinterpreted something he saw without talking to her about it. But after about fifty page, he's discovered his mistake and is ready to make it work.
That man did NOT do enough groveling in this book. Ten years of attitude and he is just like, "Oh no, I was wrong. Oh well, we should get back together."Frankly, their could have been a lot more of the two finding their way back to each other (like the last book in this series) and a lot less drama of the romance triangle.

Finding Home Again by Brenda Jackson 384 pages
Catalina Cove #3

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Featuring: Graphic Sexual Descriptions, Outlandish Scenarios, Small Town Living, Stubborn Characters

Rating as a movie: N-17 for sexual content

My rating: ⭐⭐⭐½

My thoughts: PG- 45 I hate when they give pieces of the story. PG 160 This is taking too long. PG 215 I see where this is going and I'm not buying it.

This is the story the series has been alluding to since the first book. I was a bit disappointed in it's delivery. There were continuity issues but I have seen worse from Robyn Carr so ignore it. I couldn't ignore the side story that prevented this from being a 4 star read. I understand it's nice to sprinkle contemporary romance with a little thriller and mystery but this one was so farfetched it left a bad taste in my mouth.

Recommend to others?: Yes. Overall it got the job done, and that I'm past it I move on to another good story, it's still a great series and considering I gave one of the Virgin River books 2 stars, 3.5 is great for the worst book in the series so far. I'm loving Ms. Jackson.

After two books of keeping us in the dark, we finally find out what has gone down between Kaegan and Bryce. The hatred/tension that has been so apparent in the first two books is now revealed. And sadly this was my least favorite Catalina Cove installment so far. So we find out why Kaegan and Bryce have had this issue for ten years and it turns out that it was a misunderstanding that should have been easily resolved but then we'd have no plot so 10 year grudge it is. However, now that Kaegan knows the truth about what happened all those years ago, he wants her back. Honestly, I found it annoying that Kaegan had no intention of respecting Bryce's initial wishes of actually getting closure from this relationship. I had no real investment in how this relationship turned out and often found myself wishing that Bryce would end up with someone else.

Every issue in this book is resolved so quickly that there's no time to actually wrestle with any of the conflict going on in this book. Even the stalker storyline, which really only make a brief appearance the last few chapters, is resolved way too quickly. I would have actually liked to have seen much more of the stalker throughout the book. After reading the somewhat bonkers plot lines of the first two installments, which I enjoyed but the plots were WILD, I was kind of expecting a little bit more from this book.

I truly enjoyed this entire series.

I was feeling a sweet romance about second chances and this was just the book. The Louisiana bayou is always a great backdrop.
