I enjoyed the concept of her compromising him, accidentally.

It took a little too long for my liking for him to warm up. I’m also sensing a theme in this series of instead of just talking to your partner you have to do a huge grand gesture that actually takes longer and your partner feels despondent the whole time. I could do without that. Just have a conversation

The first half was good and had me engaged but it all fizzled out for me with their first proper sex scene. It just wasn’t written well and at that point the characters started flip-flopping around as well.

Plus my edition had so many wrong tenses, typos and missing words. If this book had a proofreader they didn’t do a good job and if it didn’t have one it sorely needed one.

Fairly steamy quick read! Some well written moments but over all extremely predictable. Brooding duke and fawning lady. I wasn’t as annoyed by Adeline as I usually am of female main characters in this dynamic, but that said she’s super naive and over eager.
