I'm not usually much of a romance fan, but I enjoyed this book. I liked the development of the two main characters' relationship through out the novel. The set-up for the plot was amusing and I enjoyed both of the main characters immensely, especially Adeline since she was a strong character and went after what she wanted, even if it didn't quite work out as planned. And the steamy romance scenes were great.
The pacing did slow down a little bit in parts, but the story never felt like it was moving too slowly. There were also a few plot choices, such as how Adeline ends up in the duke's room, that I wasn't a fan of.

This book falls anywhere between 3-3.25 Stars for me.
The first 70% of the book was so good and gripping. It was steamy and sweet.
I wasn't a fan of the third act drama. That's what made me hesitant on finishing the book and what ultimately made me give it less than 4 stars. I didn't like the decisions of the Heroine or the Hero, I thought they were selfish and the lack of communication was annoying. You could see the plot twist a mile away.
Still if you want to read something that is steamy and a quick read, this is your book.

This is one of my absolute favourite Historical Romance books!
It has everything I love. A Duke, a Wallflower, a Compromising Situation and it's such a great and dearing one! Haha.
It's got great writing, humourous situations, love, heartache, loss, great sex and lots of it. :D
I keep re-reading this book, originally I bought it on Kobo a long time ago, but since then I've got a Kindle so now everything is on Amazon hehe.
If you love Dukes, fast weddings, saucy situations and a great love story, this is def. for you. :)
5 brilliant stars!!

Edmond is a widower of 3 years. His wife and son died in childbirth, and he blames himself for their deaths. He realizes that his other children are lonely, so he decides to marry so they can have a mother.
Adeline was attacked by an Earl and now her father is trying to force her to marry her attacker. In order to escape that fate, she hatches of plan to have herself caught in the room of a man that she cares for who previously offered for her hand. But she finds herself in the wrong room.
Adeline was alright, but Edmond was an ass most of the time. I felt bad for him, and he had some good moments, but I don't think that the good completely made up for the bad. The relationship was very imbalanced because Edmond was so closed off for most of the book. And the relationship that they had seemed more lustful than loving until the very end.

I liked the mistaken identity followed by the relationship progression.

This was okay but I didn’t love it. Partly that was because I literally just read a book with the exact same trope at the beginning, so that was meh. Also, because I find it very frustrating when authors have a character who feels very strongly about something but then also is able to immediately change their mind. In this book the hero does a complete 180 on a decision within a day.
