Introduction to Ito, it was not what I was expecting, but at the same time it was? Also equally memorable and not, very conflicted.
It's really a piece of art that just pulls your eyes into its center!

Kuna sundlugemine ei ole üldse tore, olen see kuu üritanud lugeda raamatuid, mida ma olen lugeda tahtnud juba väga pikka aega ja mis suudavad isegi sellises lugemistahtmatuse mülkas natukenegi elevust ja uudishimu tekitada. "Uzumaki" on mu Goodreadsi to-read riiulil seisnud juba mitu aastat, nii et tundus, et vot nüüd on õige aeg see ette võtta.
Uzumaki tähendab jaapani keeles keerist, spiraali - ja just sellest tulebki juttu. Kurozu-cho on mereäärne linnake, kus elavad Kirie ja tema poiss-sober Shuichi. Ühel päeval hakkavad seal juhtuma kummalised asjad. Shuichi isa kinnisideeks saavad spiraalid. Kui see hullus viib ta surmani, siis isegi see ei ole tavaline. Iga päevaga tekitavad spiraalid aina enam kaost ning linnast lahkumine on võimatu.
Seda oli ikka päris jube lugeda, sest ma ei ole kunagi tulnud selle peale, et spiraalid võivad ikka väga jubedad olla. See hirm, mida see lugu tekitab, jäi päris hästi külge. Oma kõrvad jätan ma küll rahule, aga ma ei vaata enam kunagi ühtegi spiraali sama pilguga kui enne.
Hilarious horror manga. I mean, it is not intentionally funny, and it is actually quite disturbing -- I wouldn't read it at night -- but the premise is that there is a town and it is haunted by an evil ... spiral! The very earth is
contaminated by the evil ... spiral pattern! The mangaka does manage to make it very freaky, but then he spoils it by putting a little biographical comic at the end about the research he did for the manga: "I ate spiral foods: spiral fishcakes, soft-serve ice cream .... I reared snails, but all they did was leave behind orange faeces. Truly, a fascinating pattern ... " Cue mangaka looking thoughtful and mysterious while the figure of his editor pursues him in the background: "Ito, where is the next comic?!"
