“You’ve ruined me, Persephone. Forgive the fuck out of me if I want to return the favor.”

this BOOK OMFG. it is perfection. i'm so so in love with all the characters. i've claimed hades as my book husband no one can have him he's MINE!!!
the drama and the stakes were perfect. it got me the right amount of stressed. hades being vulnerable with persephone made my heart melt it was just too sweet. everytime he called her 'little siren' my heart beat a little faster.

quotes i liked :

- Still he doesn’t say anything. I sigh again. “Is it because you think you’d be coercing me? You’re not. If I didn’t want to have sex with
you, I wouldn’t offer.”

- “Do you want me, Hades? Even a little bit?”
“No.”

- “You are outstandingly arrogant. It’s my body.”
“Wrong. For the duration of this scene, it’s my body.”

- Yeah, it’s official. I like her.

- “Can you feel their eyes on you?”
(...)“Yes,” I gasp. “I can feel them watching.”

“Do you know what they see?” He doesn’t move, just pins me to him. “They see a monster about to devour a pretty princess. They see me taking one of their own and dragging her down into the dark
with me. I’m ruining you before their very eyes.”
“Good,” I whisper fiercely. “Ruin me, Hades. I want you to.”

- I cross to her and cup her face in my hands. “If we were different
people in different circumstances, I would get down on my knees and beg you to stay at the end of the winter. I would move heaven and earth and the Underworld itself to keep you with me.”
(...) “If we were different people, you
wouldn’t have to beg. I’d plant my roots right here in this house, and
it would take a catastrophic event to make me walk away.”

- I really, really love you.

- Who needs to breathe when I have Hades? He’s my very air.

- “You’ve ruined me, Persephone. Forgive the fuck out of me if I want to return the favor.”

- “Here, Hades. It feels like home here with you. In this house, in the lower city. I want to be with you, if you’ll have me.”
He gives a slow smile. “You mean it.”
“With my whole heart and soul.”

OK...and was hoping for a better Persephone/Hades story. It seemed like it straddled the line of "real" and myth. Like it could have been any romance and just plugged in the names from mythology. I believe there wasn't any "magic" at all but the way Hermes pops in and out seems to go unexplained.
It's never truly explained why there are the "13" and how you "become" a member of that elite group. Whether inherited (like Hades) the others aren't explained.
I managed to finish, but I'm not sure if I'll pick up another in this series.

Very mild bdsm. Overall, a good/quick read. Scenes weren't as spicy as I was expecting, but still good! I just have a wicked brain.

Good intro to the Exhibition/BDSM fantasy and example on how to regularly check in with your partner.

The plot? None. Persephone being a hilarious brat and topping from the bottom? Most of the content.

A great book to introduce you into the Greek mythological-romantasy sub genre. I recommend!
