I wanted a cozy Christmas book and this wasn't it.

This is a very confusing book. You have to read it slowly and accept that you might not understand everything. First I had to force myself to continue, then I took a break from it and when I picked it up again I flew through the second half. It grows on you. And I loved the character interactions.

Incredible and poetic read. Great to read in winter, as it were. What a powerful author.

If someone described this novel in terms of structure, narrative, etc. before I'd read it, I would probably assume I wouldn't like it (same with "Autumn"). However, the writing is just spectacular yet again. This didn't seem to grip me as much as Autumn did but I did just finish it while walking around outside with my IPad so I guess maybe it did. :)
