This book and the first one each get a 3 star from me but taken together are more like a 4. This was a fun duology.

A little more rushed and hard to follow than the first but still pretty ok!

*This book is part of a series and I have not read the first book.*

Two young children who are able to pilot a giant metal knight, go to a different city and meet other children who are able to pilot a different giant metal knight.

My library didn't list this book as part of a series so I didn't read the first book. This book is not a book that you can do that with. A lot of the characters and events don't make much sense. I was able to slightly piece it together from what I read but it wasn't a great experience.

Regardless of that, the art was amazing. The history and lore of the world were extremely interesting and I would love to learn more about that. I thought that the characters were a little shallow and seemed to change without much development.

Overall, a cute read but definitely read the first book first.

The second in a graphic novel series written by Victoria Ying, this story is full of adventure and excitement. Hannah and Ever are drawn into a story much bigger than themselves of finding unity and peace between cities and peoples. They learn about working together, courage, forgiveness, and joy through the dips and turns of this adventure.

Age-appropriateness: 9-12 yrs.
As a graphic novel that includes themes which can be discussed, this could be used as a whole-class book to go through. Several students may also enjoy it for independent reading if they like stories full of fantasy and adventure.

A very fun, action-packed sequel! I think this series would make a great Disney+ animated show. Though the plot is simple, the illustrations are what truly make this book exciting. They flow so well and make you turn pages like nothing else. I wish there was a little more character development, especially for our main duo since we've had them for two books.
