DID NOT FINISH: 25%

Nearly a quarter of the way through and it felt like it was all over the place.  Not funny.   Not coherent.

Even though this book came heavily recommended by Brené Brown (who I love) I had a really difficult time finishing it. Maybe it could have been half as long? Or slightly more structured? I don't know — I've never written a book. There were a few LOL-worthy moments and a piece of advice that I just loved ("Pretend you're good at it"), but aside from that the stories just blended together for me. I will say, however, that cover is 100%!!

As someone who suffers from depression and anxiety, among other things, I absolutely adored this book because it took something that is so stigmatized and brought it to light through humor, all thanks to someone who isn't afraid to tell their story. I listened to the audiobook, which is read by the author. I HIGHLY recommend it! You will laugh, you will probably cry, and you'll connect with the story because it feels so personal. One of my favorite reads ever!

Hilarious and honest. So many "is she writing about my life?" moments. I loved every minute of it.
