I wanted this to be uplifting, to show triumph over difficulty. Mostly I just didn't want to be around the person I was reading about.

The chapters about coping and living with a mental illness are fascinating, well-written and funny. Other chapters are just "look, I'm a crazy cat lady" blog posts.

“Art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable.”

I read this book in less than a day because I couldn't put it down. I forwent sleep, in exchange, I was rewarded with laughter and community. Jenny Lawson reminds us that our mental illnesses are not our fault, so the blame should not lie within. All we can do is work hard every day to combat our demons, and try to be furiously happy! :)

This book should be a must-read for anyone who has suffered from depression or anxiety and for anyone who knows someone who has suffered from depression or anxiety. I highly recommend the audio book version!
