Jake and Mattie get their story and it was so, so good. Incredibly hot, instantaneous, and well developed romance. Just the right balance of daddy. Loved the patience Jake had with allowing Mattie to trust him in his own time and way.

After a lengthy anticipated wait, we finally have book 2 of Luna David’s The Boys Club series. Mattie and Jake meet in book 1 - Jake, a good friend of Cash and Mattie who is one of Liam’s best friends and roommates. The story immediately begins the same night they initially meet (mere hours before) as the boys are getting ready in their apartment before dragging Liam to the club despite his protests. Both Mattie and Jake are instantly attracted to each other, but have other things on their minds that night. Jake is ready to dive right in and claim Mattie as his own, but Mattie has strong reservations despite feeling the same insanely strong pull to the other man. Jake is not about to let the perfect boy of his dreams slip through his fingers so Mattie better be prepared to be wooed within an inch of his life! I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

So, I might have a thing for patient and gentle Daddies and stories with hurt / comfort... which this story had a lot of. I was intrigued by Mattie and Jake in Let Me In and their story didn't disappoint - Jake was just a great Daddy and Mattie was the sweetest boy!

Jake was a great character and I really liked him, he was exactly what Mattie needed and deserved. I liked their instant connection from the moment they met and the effects Jake had on Mattie even before they knew each other. Mattie had his struggles, and at some points his "I don't want to talk about it" became a bit repetitive, but considering his past it made sense.

I had some issues towards the ending, I just felt like some of the events came a bit out of nowhere and escalated very quickly. I can understand why the author chose that direction for the story, but I would have preferred it being handled in another way.

Other than that I really enjoyed this book and I'm kind of impatient for more books in this series! I completely adored the friendships and dynamics here - Liam, Carter and Mattie were so precious and I look forward to seeing more of Sammy! This story was also building towards Carter's book and I'm so curious and totally intrigued about his background and secrets.

I was not as excited about this one as I was by the first one, which I loved.

It was not bad, but I had hoped for more.

This one missed the mark for me. The conversations were so long and repetitive i found myself bored.
