Michael und Joshua Rowland spielen ebenfalls eine große Rolle in Into the Dark.

Into the Dark is the fifth instalment in the Cincinnati series and is the most gripping and absorbing so far. There is no problem with jumping into the series in this book although you will probably not want to miss the preceding book as this is romantic suspense at its best. The plot follows two brothers, Michael and Joseph, who happen to be there to witness a man being bundled into the boot of a car never to be seen again; they then find themselves in grave danger by the very same person as they have seen the face of a dangerous vigilante who does not intend to be disturbed from his disturbing "duty". Away from the primary plotline, the developing will they-won't they relationship between Diesel Kennedy and our feisty heroine Dr Dani Novak continues. Following a criminal carrying out his own system of vigilante justice, we see just how warped different people viewing the exact same event can become.
This is a complex and fantastic thriller and the way in which Ms Rose takes various different but interlinked plot threads and weaves them all together into a patchwork quilt that is not only easy to follow and understand but utterly gripping too, is amazing. It has been done so exceptionally that I was astounded. This sprawling intricate, interconnected web makes for a multidimensional story and one with plenty of pep and pizazz and a superb balance between the main case and the personal lives of Dani and Diesel as well as the rest of the cast. I would say that this is up there with the authors most absorbing, accomplished and entertaining books to date, if not the most outstanding by far and my favourite for it's grit, thrills, twisty surprises and moral dilemmas. It is bound to be a huge hit with ardent long-term fans and newcomers alike. Highly recommended. Many thanks to Headline for an ARC.

Into the Dark is a book that is full of heartbreaking, heart-pounding and heartwarming moments. A compelling mystery that goes into interesting directions.
It's finally Dani and Diesel Time !!
This book has been long-awaited as we have seen Diesel pine for Dani in the previous Cincinnati books, and we all know that they would be perfect together.
One of my favourite elements of Karen Roses books is that she highlights different issues. This book focuses on a deaf victim and shines spotlight things that we don't think about. Example our having to have a translator for personal or legal conversation. Or having alarms that light up as you wouldn't hear the noise of an alarm.
Regarding the case, there two different stands going along Micheal, Dani and Diesel story. It was interesting to see how they were connected and how they were weaved into the story.
Another favourite element of Into the dark is that Dani and Diesel aren't perfect they make mistakes, and they have their own issues. But they try their best to do the right thing and to help people.
Karen Rose is the master of creating addictive reads. I read Into the dark in one day as I was so engrossed. I happily put on my headphones, so I could ignore the rest of the world and dive into Dani and Diesel story.
Also, the Cincinnati gang for me will be now known as the marshmallow gang.
Shout out to the Marvel character name for the dogs. Especially that Dani dogs is called Hawkeye.
Into the Dark is perfect for crime fans that like romance with there mystery, and a story that pulls on your heartstrings.
My Rating for Into the Dark is 5 out of 5.

Excellent
Another superb book from Karen Rose. The background story is of an ever growing family made up of friends and colleagues who choose each other. They are all connected to law enforcement or medicine and have built up trust and respect for each other through their work. Their integrity is what gets them through the horror of discovering a killer, dealing with their trail of destruction, and bringing them to justice. Always with a satisfying happy ending.
