I enjoyed the book and all. There were moments where I felt giddy and then some when I felt annoyed. I don’t know it was good, but I do feel like there was a lot of repetition.

I enjoyed the start of the book but it got worst the further I got. I would say it's because of miscommunication but the MCs would actually need to communicate for that to be an issue. Theres more intimate scenes and drama then actual substance to this book. I almost DNFed this book and part of me wishes I would have.

DID NOT FINISH

Every cliche and the characters weren’t likeable enough to make cliche charming

I wish I DNF more books! This book almost made it to the rare DNF pile.

First none of the characters were likable. The MMC was immature and definitely didn’t pull off the “daddy” vibes needed in an age gap book. I wanted to commit when he was singing Tayler Swift and agreed he was a Swifty.

Dear Heart, You Screwed Me is a NA Contemporary Romance novel that explores the love and loss of our main character Reese, along with her connections to her best friend and then future love interest who happens to be her best friends dad.

I really enjoyed everything about this story; the characters, the plot, the emotions that you are sent through as the story progresses, the angst. I found myself really connecting to the characters, especially Reece who spends a lot of time going through such intense emotions of guilt, happiness, sadness all because of who she's lost and who she loves.

Killian's character had such depth to him, with his own issues coming into play that created such a unique and interesting backstory for him. I found that even though both Reese and Killian fell for each other quite fast, they had such an intense connection that it just seemed so natural and the author was able to do this flawlessly. Although I do appreciate that at times, he was so incredibly infuriating but it was done in such a way where you just wanted to keep reading on. Doing so, you really got to appreciate Reece's character more.

The plot was on a whole other level, I quite literally did not expect the twist that we got up until a few paragraphs before, and it completely shocked me. Then after, my heart was ripped out of my chest as it was both upsetting, confusing and shocking and I didn't know how to handle it.

Overall, the emotions that the author puts you through reading this novel is worth the 5/5. I can't wait to read the rest of the series now!
