2.5⭐️ (read the whole thing but did a lot of skimming)
3⭐️ (several scenes with details)
H = Killian
h = Reese

Dnf 11% I really wanted to love it but I skimmed through the entire 11 percent. Not enough dialogue and a lot of pointless descriptions . I felt like a lot of it was added for word count which sucks because the books could have been so good

The only reason this got any stars was because it had good spice… the storyline was shocking, even though it is one of my usual favourite tropes!!

This is definitely at the top of worst books I've ever read (Spoilers)

I literally had a conversation with my boyfriend prior to reading this book about how if you're gonna be creepy (WHICH KILLIAN IS!!! YOU CANT CHANGE MY MIND HE STOLE A KEY TO HER APARTMENT!!) you have to be attractive AND rich otherwise you'd catch a charge.

So first of all if Connnie is going around inviting all women who go to the hotel alone out for drinks or whatever (which she HAS TO like who does that???!) She definitely has MORE FRIENDS THAN REESE WHY DID SHE GET THE TITLE BEST FRIEND SO EASILY

second of all I definitely think this author wanted an age gap without the actual maturity of being almost 50 because what the FUCK this guy acted like a child 99% of the time!!!

Idc Reese DEFINITELY would've said Killians name in a conversation with Connie and the book would've died

The marriage story was DUMB!!! HOW do u fly from New York to Vegas and back in the same night???? Also he was so obsessed with her why??? They had NOTHING in common

The whole "I haven't been with someone since we've been married" THE BIGGEST EYE ROLL. Congrats. You haven't fucked anyone else in a WEEK. Bruh

The convo about her wanting kids and him not?? VALID but thank u author tho for stepping on a childfree person like HELLO lmao

Reese was a dirty horn dog and Killian realized that and exploited it.

AS SOON as Killian said he had a heart transplant in London I KNEW. Like come ON I don't believe for a second someone who doesn't EVEN LIVE IN THE COUNTRY would go on the transplant list. Could be wrong but I don't believe it (and he DRANK REGULARLY AND GOT DRUNK. And correct me if I'm wrong but don't u have to be on hardcore meds when u get a transplant??????)

The fucking PSYCHIC ARE U KIDDING. Magic exists in this universe but we got this story instead.

Reese shouldn't have gone back with him idc.

This story started out really tragic and definitely pulled at my heartstrings right at the beginning. I didn’t find any of the characters (main or side) to be really likable or relatable.

There were also a lot of inconsistencies in the timelines and character traits that didn’t make sense with other things that were told. Continuity errors were pretty rampant and definitely took me out of the story as there were a few times where the characters were described as wearing particular things and then later scenes basically disregarded the outfits that they were wearing without any space in the timeline for a wardrobe change.

There were also a lot of parts that felt over or underwritten. The time spent on certain areas of the relationships, work, etc. didn’t make sense or seem to make any difference in the story versus other points where we jumped ahead weeks or months at a time missing what felt like crucial moments or conversations.

Overall, the whole book felt like a miscommunication trope, the characters (even the older ones) all felt really juvenile, and I wouldn’t really recommend it to anyone for the story. If you're just looking for something that's a quick read with a large age gap (20 years), best friend's dad, accidental marriage/pregnancy, good spice, and you're not concerned about the plot math mathing then you will probably enjoy this book.
