Okay okay hear me out… this was a 4 for me then it became a 3 real quick. As I realised it was just pissing me off more and more, that’s not to say I didn’t enjoy it I did but I can’t ignore the shit that annoyed me.
1. Anyone that has ever read my reviews knows mistakes that should of been found in editing piss me off.
2. It wasn’t what I expected at all in some ways I loved that in others it annoyed me, I felt let every trope possible was thrown in there just so everyone would like it, best friends dad, forced proximity, hot boss, jealous ex, accidental baby, accidental marriage, miscommunication, age gap. So much miscommunication!
3. Where were they getting this notion they were so toxic they couldn’t be together!? They literally were in no way toxic and they got the blessing to be together at 80% in, so why were they still dealing with miscommunication drama at like 97%!?
4. Killian was meant to be a 45 year old man who new what he wanted and was going after it in Reese, so pleaseeeeee tell me why he came across as an indecisive 21 year old half the time!?
I don’t want to put people off reading it because I didn’t enjoy it, but maybe advertise as it actually is because all the hype I saw for this book was best friends dad, not all the other stuff that confused the absolute fuck out of me when I first started reading!

So the description of the book was kind of misleading to me, because you don’t even find out he is her best friends dad until almost 1/3 of the way in. Also, for someone who was so deep with her first fiancé, Reece lacked depth with Killian but was madly in love with him? Odd?
Positives were spice, obvi. Some comedy. I liked Connie’s character. There’s a scene in the epilogue that had me crying laughing too.

honestly- there was no meat and bones and i couldn’t get over how she was so “heartbroken” all the time. ugh get over it. i don’t know it could’ve been done better
DNFd at 35%. Literally it read like an early 2010’s wattpad story. The story line was incredibly inconsistent. Like is this a billionaire romance? Or a rockstar romance? Or a lesbian romance? Why does the random woman become a ride or die bff? And why does she have a giant secret?? Why does the HEAD OF HR get to be so incredibly unprofessional and treat FMC like a bestie? And the description of “tousled hair” and “chiseled jawline” for EVERY man that she ever interacts with that stares deep into her soul? I just couldn’t hang with the angst. I thought I was almost through it when I checked and I was at 35%??? What else was going to happen??
