Reading this was like reading a Coleen Hoover book with more smut.

I liked this book except for things here and there. But by the time I got to the third act, break up, I was fed up! One of the worst tropes for me is the miscommunication trope, but also the third act break up! And to have both of them in a span of 30 pages, yeah fuck that! I'm so over this book now.
It honestly wasn't awful. The instant connection with Connie was weird at first, but I understood it because I've had that type of connection with someone at first. There are a lot of things that felt like it didn't fit, but the overall story and characters were great, up until the end. Come on! The extra drama was absolutely insane!! The whole twist with Connie's mom 🙄 the whole third act, miscommunication breakup, just no 🙄 and the ending didn't make me want to forgive the bs I went through at the end.

Book over all 3/5
Spice 4/5
Plot 3/5
This book starts pretty sad but I love how it just pulled me in and kept me wanting to read more. I think that there wasn't enough romance. There were a bunch of sex scenes but none of them were like intimate to where they felt something other than lust. Anytime they would fight, they would just f*ck. I would have loved it if they talked out their emotions a bit more. There were so many plot twists but I think that after they get together part Killian doesn't show up just feels like the author stretched out the story a little. If she would have given us that before they worked on their relationship it would have felt a bit more natural. Also, I hated that there were so many skips like out of nowhere she would skip to 3 months later. Especially when Killian was "groveling" we got nothing and then he fucks up again. The scene where Reese goes to the Tarot reader. I feel that it would have been better if Elijah came in her dream or something because personally, I don't believe in all that yk. But honestly, it is a well-written book. I would 100% read it. Just not more than once.

I don’t know why, but this book felt painfully millennial… still pretty ight though :p
I am not sure if it was a plot problem or my expectation was to high - but this book just did not do it for me. Maybe I will reread it another time and see if it is better, but so far I don't have high expectations.
