They had me in the first half.
I enjoyed this book, I really did. Until the very end. To say I was disappointed in the “big reveal” would be an understatement. However, I’ll still give it 4/5 stars because the story had me at the edge of my seat. I took this book to the pool with me as a way to pass the time and ended up getting a sunburn because I was too focused on what was happening to reapply or flip. I bounced back and forth between who I thought did it, only to be met with an unsatisfying reveal. I mean, you have me mourning the loss of a girl who deserved better for almost 300 pages and then all the sudden she’s just not dead? She’s been in hiding? I’m sorry but it almost feels like Lisa Jewell had this entire story mapped out except for the ending and then she went “eh let’s just have her live” and took the easy way out. I still adore Lisa Jewell and her writing and I’ll continue to read her work but this one just fell a little short for me.

I enjoyed this book, definitely gripping in some moments and had me locked in. I like the conversation around incels and the story involving a man who was able to rehabilitate himself from that horrendous mindset. Its prominent in this day and age and easy to get suck in so that was a very intriguing part of the story. Overall I would recommend, Lisa Jewell writes so well! I just wish the ending was a little more shocking or twisty. 3.75⭐

I liked the resolution of this book! It took me a while to read, and there were so many characters it was hard to get back into after a break. But overall a good read! Lisa Jewell books are always a hit for me !
Pretty Sure you can tell by my 1 Star Rating that I didn't like this book. It has a great plot but the rest is pretty much eh.
