So creepy. I sort of had a guess of what happened but there were still twists I didn’t anticipate.
3.5 Stars. I had a hard time liking this with all of the misogyny in the beginning but it faded a bit and the story got better. I. Liked the conclusion and wrap up a lot. It had some twists that weren't too surprising but they were done pretty well.
[REVIEW] Invisible girl by Lisa Jewell
Recommend Yes/No: Yes
My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ [4/5]
“It’s amazing how boring you can get away with being when you’re pretty. No one seems to notice. When you’re pretty everyone just assumes you must have a great life. People are so short-sighted, sometimes. People are so stupid.”
Is it bad to say I wasn’t expecting this to be as good as it was? The blurb doesn’t do this book justice at all, it’s so much more than another missing girl story or solely centred around the thirty something virgin. This for me was the right balance of suspense, drama and a story which revealed many layers to each character.
I really liked the mix of characters and the role they played. I found it more realistic that each character wasn’t black and white, so much more depth rather than just good or bad.
The story itself was different, I wasn’t expecting it to take the turn that it did. Despite the book being a work of fiction, I carried on thinking about some of the characters after I finished it, purely because I found there was so much to unpack, particularly with Owen.
I flew through this and will definitely be picking up more of Jewell’s books in the future!

Lisa Jewell is an absolute thriller genius!!! Her books just never disappoint! 🤩
I absolutely loved this read! It was gripping, there were so many twists and turns right up until the very last line and I just love Lisa's writing style... Definitely one of my favourite books of hers so far! Can't wait to get started on yet another... 📚🤗
