The 9/11 series was so touching. Karen made it look like I was there when it happened.

Read this book before the remembrance of 9/11 this year and let me just say, I felt like I was there each step of the way. Although I wasn’t born yet when the events of this story took place, I’ve always had an interest in this harrowing moment of our nation’s history. This story perfectly captured the fear and trauma each person faced following the attack. This book made me really stop and think about the importance of loving the family that God places in your life.

My heart goes out to the families who lost someone those 21 years ago.

May we never forget their sacrifice.

Okay. So this is probably the third time I have read this book. I felt like a good cry and something about 9/11. No, I don't know what it was.....but I wanted to read something in the Christian fiction world. I don't go into that world very often as I find many of the books are formulaic and either beat you over the head with Christianity......or it's dubbed Christian to sell but nothing sets it apart.

Regardless, the book about Jake Bryan, a Staten Island firefighter, and Eric Michaels, a business executive from LA, is one that gets me every time. As you might imagine the storyline going, Jake is a family man who loves his family, being a firefighter, and loves Jesus. Eric is basically estranged from his family, has walked away from his faith.......

Until 9/11 and a chance meeting in the South Tower of the World Trade Center. See, these two men are not related and yet look exactly the same. When one is discovered with no ID and no memory, well, you can guess how it goes.

One Tuesday Morning is also the story of Jame Bryan and Laura Michaels, both women searching for answers. As I said, it's a great book. Yes, you will cry during scenes in the towers. How can you not?

I was reminded why this is one of my favorite Kingsbury novels. Her writing wasn't formulaic at this point. It is new characters and not just the Baxter family. It made me want to go read the second book, Beyond Tuesday Morning, again. I think I will.

This book gave me all the emotions! It takes place surrounding 9/11.  I thought she did a great job of capturing the feeling surrounding 9/11 and I felt like I was right back there on that day.  The story line itself was a little far fetched but enjoyable - although heart wrenching at times.

Jamie and Jake have a wonderful marriage, and Jake is a great father to their daughter Sierra. Eric, however, has sacrificed his marriage and child in favor of financial success. All of them are going to be affected by the events on Tuesday morning.

So far this could be any one of many romantic thrillers, but it's so much more. There is truth, hard but not gory, about a firefighter's work and risks. There is truth about marriage, both where it works and where it fails. There is truth about Jesus. There is truth about the hardships and joys of life, the sacrifices we can choose and the ones we can't, and the sort of trust and peace that can only come through trusting God.

Good story, but it took me awhile to read because of the emotional subject matter. 9/11/01 is a day I will never forget & I can get very emotional regarding the events of that horrible day. While I read this book, it really made me think of what was going through the minds of the people trying to get out of the World Trade Center buildings. I am looking forward to reading the other two books in this series.

This had plenty to like about it but the concept of slotting it into christianity is something I dislike and feel has nothing to do with what happened on 9/11 or its aftermath. I am a practising christian BUT i dislike the idea that only practising christians are good people or indeed that all practising christians are good people because sadly the latter is simply not true. I think the bible belt undertones detract rather than add to what could have been a great narrative line about the survivors and victims of 9/11. I will not be continuing the series

This series is phenomenol. Unlike most Christian authors, Karen writes stories that feel real and not too stilted. Other than God speaking to the characters all the time, it feels REAL. No stiltedness. Love how they all interact, too!

Genre: Christian Fiction,

My Rating: 4 Stars.

Recommendation: 15+ because of some things that happened in this book.

My favorite character/s: Jake is my favorite character, he’s kind, loving, sweet, loyal, and faithful to God and family. I enjoyed reading his POV (Point of View.) He’s a great firefighter, dad, husband, and makes an interesting character. I loved how sweet he was with Jamie, how he was so kind and loving with Sierra.

My Verse for Jake is Psalm 31:23
O love the Lord, all ye his saints: for the Lord preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer.

My thoughts: This was a sadly sweet book. I enjoyed the plot, characters, and feel of the book. I haven't read many books about firefighters or 9-11 and it was interesting to read about firefighters on 9-11. The author did an excellent job with the character development. I can't say that I didn't see the plot twist coming yet, it was pretty good even if a little predictable. I wish that there were more books that remind people of 9-11 even if they are fictional.
