i think that these books are classic stories with magic, battles, good vs. evil, humor, and great characters. i love these books. if you haven't read them yet i recommend them to anyone who wants to go to a whole new different world with talking animals , like i said magic, and just plain awesome!
I can't believe I didn't read these books as a kid. Even if I had, I think I would have read them again as an adult. There's plenty of juicy discussion topics -- religion, racism, life, death, sexism, good vs. evil, etc. etc.
I struggled to get into the Chronicles of Narnia my first time around as a child, but upon my more grown up reading I found them even more engaging and poignant. Definitely a must-read for everyone.

The religious undertones aren't my cup of tea.
I wish that publishers didn't only publish in chronological order and that they still did American editions, but The Chronicles of Narnia are the best. The Silver Chair and The Horse and His Boy are my favorite books in the series, though Voyage of the Dawn Treader maybe right after, because Eustace is my literary love.

just reread all of these right after christmas in a fit of nostalgia for my youth and i still stick by my nine year old self in the opinion that voyage of the dawntreader is hands down the best book of the series. that ending, with all the light and lotus flowers... some of the most beautiful imagery.
Easier to add in one fell swooop. The books were fun, and my favorite was actually The Horse and His Boy. I would have liked them more as a kid and some of it was hard getting through, but I enjoyed most of it.
