DNF @ 40% once again this book was listed as the first in a series but also a STANDALONE but the author incorporates all these characters from a previous series so I feel like I’m thrown in the deep end learning everyone’s stories and trying to keep track of characters.. it’s so frustrating when authors do this especially because I really liked the writing and I’m invested in the story but it just got way too overwhelming trying to keep track of everyone and their history. I will probably come back to this one after I read the others but I’m so annoyed!!
adventurous
this had so many good reviews and i'm so confused as to why? like, don't get me wrong, there are good elements--e.g. the support the couple gave one another, the friendships etc., but i felt like this was so prolonged? so much happened but i cannot name a massive plot point other than the secret keeping? i wish i liked this more, but i'm so conflicted lol
Although this book sits within a wider series you don't have to be familiar with the others to enjoy it. There is enough background on each of the side characters to cause intrigue that will have you looking for the rest of the series though!
This is such a 'feel good' book; it's incredibly easy to read and provides a heart-warming distraction from the real world.
This would be a great read for anyone that enjoyed books such as The Miles High Club series by T L Swan or the Wolf Hotel Series by K.A Tucker.

I volunteered to read an ARC and give my honest opinion. I love L. Steele books and generally inhale them in one sitting, this one was no exception. While I didn't find this book as steamy as some of her others it was still an amazing book. I found Liam to be more sweet than alpha and Isla annoyed the crap out of me most of the book. You can definitely read this one as a stand alone but I always say they are better when you read the series and get some glimpses into their characters along the way. Love that some of the others (both groups of 7) show up throughout the book. Loved Liam's mom!
This was just a difficult one to rate so maybe 2.75?
I loved Liam, he was so understanding and I feel like he truly loved her and was so mature about it. But I just could not stand her. She was so annoying and the fact that she just kept pushing him away to the point where her reasons didn’t even make sense.
And not knowing her secret or even hinting for her secret was just annoying. It seemed like the author forgot that she made this huge deal but then had to quickly add it in. Same with the ex fiancé situation. She was never mentioned right until the end just to tie it up.
I feel like this could have potential but the editing was just terrible, and i had to keep rereading a lot of the stuff because it made no sense.
I think Liam was the only reason why I kept going (despite it taking me so long to read it) and the only reason why I rated it so high

i told myself i wasn’t reading another book by this author, but here we are. i was honestly going to give it 3 or 4 stars until i got to the last quarter of the book. the big secret that was teased the whole time was so incredibly underwhelming. it felt like some sort of self help book. i think the message is nice but come onnn dawg im trying to read a nice smutty romance book what is going on. the fmc drove me INSANE. i cant even explain how frustrated i am right now. i skimmed the last 10% bc i just couldn’t take it anymore. this book started off with great potential so im going to give the next one a shot… lets hope im not disappointed by this series for the 4th time!
