This was an addictive read, but I ended up stopping about 2/3 of the way through because of an incident of animal cruelty. I HATE when thrillers use this technique as a way of tugging at our heartstrings/making us hate the villain. I want to be like, "it's enough, everything else he/she is doing! I realize they are evil!"

Wow! Did not see this coming! The whole book, I was mad at one person and at the end it went a completely different route! Great book and quick read!!
I read this book in 24 hours… not sure if I thought I wouldn’t be able to sleep not knowing the end but I thought it was really good. I’d like to see it become a movie! Fingers crossed. Excited to talk about this one at book club. I thought it got a little repetitive in the middle) but then got interested again.

Good summer read, a psychological thriller with a villain to rival Annie Wilkes and a "Gone Girl-like" marriage made in hell. Super quick, hard to put down, definitely disturbing.

This was sk much better than I thought it would be. Picked it up on a whim for something to listen to and found myself focused on it. I really enjoyed the character development and how the house was almost a character in itself.
