Oops I read out of order for the Entangled with Fae series, but I just had to see what my boy Franco was up to!!! Ughhhhhh I loved this book so much and I was so happy to see him get his HEA!!

3.5 to 4* on the romance book scale.

This one was cute and right in line with the lightheartedness of a rom com with a good dose of rom even while light on the com.

A retelling of Cinderella but set in a fantasy world. Fluffy colorfulness, no emotional investment, wild crux or edge-of-your-seatness. As a standalone, world building is hard to do, so as a reader you kind of just have to "go with it" with certain elements, even if you don't understand how the magic or the politicking world works. It's whatevs. You're here for the cute story.

Such a sweet and cheesy romance. I'm so excited to order the 3rd one, although this one had a spoiler in the epilogue if you haven't already read Curse of the Wolf King, so keep that in mind!! Very little spice, and even then it was lacking in detail, but that just leaves more room for the imagination. I loved the banter between the 2 main characters. It was absolutely adorable. Definitely predictable, but I loved it all the same.

My only complaint was having to deal with Imogen yet again in this book. Like I get that she’s Embers step sister but I felt that Brother Marcus was very under used

Amazing

I think I loved this even more than the first book in the series, and that's saying something because Beauty and the Beast is my favourite fairy tale. I loved the characters -they were complex and well rounded and lovable. And I absolutely loved the story. Yet again, could not put it down!

I was interested in reading a magical Cinderella retelling, and there were some aspects I enjoyed. Magical bargains were used to keep Ember serving her stepfamily which was a nice twist. I appreciated her growth and enjoyed watching her powers manifest. The way she ultimately dealt with her stepmother and sisters was also fun to see.

What kept me from loving this book was that there was just too much going on. The prince was Fae and a vampire who drank emotions instead of blood. He could turn into a raven or just sprout big wings. The magic was incredibly chaotic. For me, the world building was lacking. I wanted the powers each Fae had to be better defined and related to the city they lived in.

There were some fun aspects to this, but ultimately, not really for me.

This book contains scattered moderate profanity and 2 vague open door scenes.
