2.7 stars. It was kinda boring? I was expecting a lot more because everyone keeps comparing it to The Simple Wild. I thought it was too tropey. It didn’t hit like it should’ve. But I enjoyed it at times, especially the father/daughter moments.

You think it’s a cute little romance book and then you find yourself tearing up constantly through the last 100 pages. 🙄

I have no words for how much I loved this book. It was pure perfection. Colbie and Jake’s love, their love for Robbie, and what Colbie did for Jake and Robbie ugh I can’t

My first Jennifer Millikan novel, and now I'm a fan! The Least Amount Of Awful was a slow-burning tale with the cutest kid that was incredibly emotional, passionate, warm, and heartbreaking.
Within the first few chapters, I was hooked. Their story was heartfelt and beautifully written. Some of my favorite tropes are in this book, and they were all executed really well. Although I've read stories like this before, this felt refreshing and was really enjoyable. All of the individuals were wonderful.
Colbie and Jake were a perfect match because they talked openly about how to solve problems, recognized each other's strengths and weaknesses, and sacrificed their own desires to put each other's accomplishments first. Robbie was the perfect final touch to their relationship.
Overall, I enjoyed reading this book, , and I really hope this turns into a series of interconnected standalone books. Can't wait for Georgia and Rhodes book!
Thank you Jennifer Millikin and Valentine PR for the e-arc in exchange for an honest review!

I stayed up way too late to finish this book but it was SOOOO worth it!!
It’s so much more than a love story between Jake and Colbie. It’s about learning to love yourself and realizing that things aren’t always what you believed them to be. Robbie is absolutely adorable!!
And I loved the Easter Eggs with The Hayden’s!!

This is my first time reading Jennifer Millikin and it definitely won't be my last. The Least Amount of Awful was such a heartwarming and emotional read that tugs at your heartstrings. Although this book is about Colbie and Jake, it's also about family and the multitude of different truths, both good and bad, that exist in those relationships and all at the same time. Both Colbie and Jake have difficult pasts with their fathers. Colbie has gone to visit her father for an extended period of time to help him out with his work while he is recovering after an accident. Jake works for Colbie's father. When they first meet, the sparks explode and their start is one more of enemies than friends. Jennifer Millikin does an excellent job of writing enemies to lovers deftly and you can see the sparks between Colbie and Jake. I loved reading about them, and their families and all of the angst and drama as they get to know each other and work through the issues both are facing, resolving things from their past and their present in order to move forward into their Happy Ever After. I also loved how Jake's son is written in this and all the scenes with Colbie and him together. This was such a fantastic story and I can't wait to dive into more from this author.

This was a good read for me. I thought Jake and Colbie were good together, and it was great to see them both work through things that brought them closer together. While there was romance in this story, I felt like it concentrated as much on Colbie and Jake's family situations as it did the romance. I loved that Colbie was able to repair the relationship with her family, I just wish there would have been a better outcome to the stuff with her mom. I really wanted Colbie to tell her how much she hurt her and how hard she made her life growing up. Other than that I really enjoyed the story. The relationship with Colbie, Jake and Robbie was perfect in my opinion. I loved that Colbie had the insight to know how to help Robbie and understood how he was feeling. I was hoping that Colbie and Jake didn't have to go through the stuff they did to get to their HEA, but it did make them stronger. Their HEA was perfect! I can't wait to find out what happens with Georgia and Rhodes :)
