I loved this story so much! The Least Amount of Awful is small town romance that features Colbie and Jake, two strong headed hard workers that are both rather sassy especially to one another!
Jake is a single dad and 10 years older than Colbie. Colbie is a city girl, business owner who has a rocky relationship with her dad. When life happens and Colbie returns to the small town her dad lives in her life takes a major turn when she has to take over her fathers construction business and she’s left with a pain in her butt employee.
In the beginning this book almost gave enemy to lover vibes with the way Colbie l and Jake interacted with one another. I found myself actually snickering out loud to the banter between these two.
I enjoyed watching both Colbie and Jake grown through out this story. The relationship Colbie and Robbie (Jake’s 10 year old son) is adorable and you just know off the bat that he’s gonna be giving his dad a hard time about sweet and sassy Colbie.
This book gave me total hallmark movie vibes so of course I ate it all up!
The spice was well written and I got a nice laugh at the sneaking around

This was the first book I have read from Jennifer Millikin and it definitely won't be the last. I loved it! Jake and Colbie were perfect. I love a single dad romance and this one was excellent. I loved their banter and all of their interactions. I flew through it and couldn't put it down. I can't wait to read more from Jennifer!

Cute single parent troupe book. Not the best one, but also not the worst.
I love that the female main character had another shot of having a relationship with her dad, she deserved it.
Also really liked her relationship with the male main character’s kid.

OH MY.. JEN HAS DONE IT AGAIN!
I think it's no secret by now how much I adore Jen's books. I could probably talk on and on about this book so I'll just list some things

Phew, Jennifer Millikin may be new to me, but she sure knows her way around my heart. She dialed right in, delivered all my favourite bits of romance novels, and swept me completely off my feet. The Least Amount of Awful was a compelling, enchanting, delightfully swoonworthy story and I devoured it like the decadent heart candy it was. It’s sweet, it’s charming, it’s sexy and romantic with great characters and a lot of heart, and it’s just a genuine, small-town, feel-good love story.
Colbie is estranged from her dad, but when she receives a call that he has been badly injured in an accident at work, she realises it's time to make amends and she packs her bags to finally face him. When she arrives however, she finds herself agreeing to run her dad’s construction company while he recovers from his accident…much to the displeasure of the foreman, Jake, who views her dad as a father figure.
Jake and Colbie are amazing characters. I loved their strength, and I love that despite that they were able to be vulnerable with each other. Though they are both facing huge challenges in their personal lives, there are no games or hiding when it comes to each other, they care for and support each other whole-heartedly, and I loved watching them come together so openly. Their honesty and the way they open up to each other is gorgeous, and it made for a beautiful love story.
Jennifer Millikin penned a heart-flutteringly sexy love story in The Least Amount of Awful that was low on the angst but high on emotion and substance. Jake and Colbie’s romance was thoroughly addictive and an absolute pleasure to read. I devoured it in a single sitting, and I’m so excited to read more from this talented author.

Dang. This book was so good. I loved them. Collie and Jake are so good together. And Robbie is the sweetest.
There is a lot going on here, working through past traumas, creating the life you want and so much love- in all the forms.
Basically, I loved it.
“What if I stop designing a life that doesn’t hurt, and choose instead to live?” ❤️❤️❤️
