Tropes: Bully, Obsessed Hero, Dub Con, bordering one non-con.

This books was everything I didn’t know I needed. I think I have made it obviously that I love a toxic relationship, Summer and Whit are definitely that.

Whit who hates summer but also, will stop at nothing, to be with Summer, uses every tactic in the book, to make her life a living hell. Until one night he finds the one thing, that will make her his. Whit is not a Sweet hero, he’s an “anti-hero”… he will do whatever he has to, to get what he wants. But He is the type of hero, that no one else is allowed to harm Summer, so he can be really protective, which I really love in this type of hero.

The thing I loved about Summer, she did have a backbone, she would still push back on Whit, and not let the words of others get to her. She has been through some traumatic moments in her past, and has come a long way since then. I really did love her character, even though she was flawed.

This story I couldn’t get enough of, I loved all the angst, steam, and the Intense connection Whit and Summer shared, that’s been undeniable since the moment they met. The growth of the characters, and seeing them overcome so much together… really made this a 5 star read. I love seeing flawed and broken characters find each other.

After this book, I’ve fallen in love with The authors writing, and I’m defiantly going to read more. I really do hope she give Sylvie Whits sister a books, there’s so much left to tell.

I defiantly recommend this book!

Cravings needed, taken and flourished

I have it this book for so long in my Kindle library. I never intended to open it the day before Halloween. It was highly addicting and so hard to put down. But buckle up because it's a LONG one.

When we meet Whittaker Lancaster (he's already so cynical) and Summer Savage (she's playing dress up in a world she doesn't know how to navigate), they are the only two "children" at an adult party and Whit is immediately fascinated with her.

They meet up there years later after the scandal of their parents affair has rocked their world. Time didn't lessen Whit's interest in Summer it only magnified it. Whit's not a guy who's ever been taught how to deal with his emotions and this obsession makes him lash out at Summer, making her life miserable at Lancaster Prep. While he may make her life a living nightmare, Sumner can't stay away and this is their journey of a relationship between two teenagers who share a connection they don't know how to handle it.

If your not one to enjoy a lot of s3xy scenes, you might want to skip this book. Because OMG, this book has them all and I was so here for them. Each and every one!

What I think I enjoyed a lot in this book is that it's prevalent that we all have choices. Don't make the choices for someone else, make the ones you NEED in your life. Great book!

I love me a good enemies to lovers, with tons of spice.

Another book I couldn’t stop thinking about! Wow… this book is really something else.

As for the plot line, I was addicted - only didn’t finish it sooner because of other commitments but it was on my mind the whole time! Angsty, enemies-to-lovers vibes, with filthy dirty talk and thigh clenching smut that even had ME blushing at parts. Everything you want in a good novel, wrapped up in 51 chapters. I do wish the ending wasn’t so rushed, and wish we’d seen more of their relationship towards the end instead of the summaries epilogue, but other than that I was in love!

The MC was a conflicting one for me. Occasionally I found myself getting annoyed with her denial, the constant back and forth of her morals. However I can see why she struggled so much, and genuinely found myself feeling for her at times (IYKYK). I was on her side throughout I just wished she’d communicated with those in her life better to avoid all the misunderstandings.

The male counterpart - another 50/50 for me. Hated his name, hated his asshole-ishness, but also couldn’t stop thinking about his words and his actions and I know if I was in the MC’s shoes, I definitely would be addicted too. There is nothing morally grey about this man, his soul is 100% black as night and I LOVE it.

1.5 ! this book to me was equivalent to watching the “After”movies like it’s terrible yet there’s a part of me that still wants to tune in to the next one because wow WTH is going on

2.5/5

It was complicated story to say the least. I was super excited but some of the things that were said/done were so intense that I was quite literally hornswoggled with the idea of even giving these two a chance.

This may be my favorite Monica Murphy book yet. I went in nervous because I’d heard Whit was super mean, and I’m not into that. But, I didn’t mind it. I read a lot of enemies to lovers books and while he’s a complete ba$stard, Summer held her own for the most part, and he showed his soft side from time to time. I knew what was going on with his sister, and his mother is a real piece of work (so is hers), but I love Monty. The romance was rough, yet sweet, and the sex is off the charts. A really great book!
