I found this to be such a beautiful read but I can see it easily going under appreciated by someone who isn't the biggest fan of music. This book is perfect for anyone like myself who adores music and loves to makes playlists for any occasion. I would highly recommend listening to the mix tapes at the beginning of each chapter while reading, it makes it an even more emotional read. Overall this book beautifully captures what music can mean to so many people and how easily songs are tied to memories.

Rob Scheffield narra una historia triste, desesperanzadora y verídica. Y al mismo tiempo, sus palabras siempre me transmitieron esperanza; incluso cuando cuenta cómo él no tenía ninguna. Hay algo en sus palabras y en la actitud que transmiten. Es una historia llena de opuestos.
Además de la trama, me encantó que cada capítulo comenzara con un “mix tape”. Creo que aportan mucho al ambiente del capítulo y ayudan a situarse mejor en los hechos. (Además, recogí varios temas para mis playlists)
Me hubiese gustado conocer mejor la música de esa época antes de leer este libro. Pero eso no significa que no haya disfrutado mucho la lectura.

i didn't realize this was memoir until like halfway through but you really do get invested in the story that is told and the descriptions of how music effects us all and how love can grow around music is really lovely. so many good anecdotes
