read in ONE SITTING, and that definitely says something. this was a great pallet cleanser after wrapping up a massive 14 book series. lighthearted with perfectly timed comedy, while still having every bit of the drama and yearning that i could ask for in a why choose. bonus points for it being a sports based story, but not having so much hockey lingo that non-fans would be confused. a great balance of sad and sweet and a surprisingly refreshing meta feel as the guys know they are her “book boyfriends”
4/5🌶️ - super steamy scenes, very frequent but not every single chapter, spice carried the plot in this one
edit to add: favorite book of January

This was my first book by this author. It was well written & edited. I thought the storyline was interesting and I am very glad that the author didn’t make any of the hockey players jerks (even the side characters).

This was a spicy and fun, albeit shallow read. It was a good palate cleanser, and I don’t think it was trying to be anything other than a feel-good junk food read. My primary annoyance was the author’s overuse of what I would consider incorrect colloquialisms (ie “home in” instead of “hone in”— which I now know is also used after looking it up, but since it was used several times in a short span, I found it irritating).
