With a cast of characters you won't soon forget--including a mute 11-year-old and his zoologically inclined spokesperson, a Ukrainian construction worker, an opinionated pole dancer, and, of course, a reluctant dancing panda-- James Gould-Bourn weaves together a perfect mix of depth and hilarity. The end result is both highly entertaining and deeply satisfying. Once I reached the midway point of this novel, I didn't close it again until the final page.

Sweet story. Nothing really stood out to me while reading it, thus the 3 star rating. I liked a lot aspects of it, but it was pretty stagnant throughout. It was pretty clear to me that this book was a debut. I would, however, be interested in reading what this author puts out in the future.

I wasn’t sure if I would like this book just based on the description, but it was amusing, well-written, and made me smile several times. A great fast read!

This was such an interesting read! It was funny, real and sad, with characters that I absolutely loved. Such an endearing story about a dad trying to mend the relationship with his son after his wife passed away. I enjoyed this book so much.
