I'll rate this novel a 3.5 stars. A mother's love has no bonds. Lucy is an unfulfilled housewife with a stereotypical meandering, successful husband. She has a free-spirited, misunderstood teenage daughter Eden. Eden is involved in a terrible drowning incident that she physically survives but mentally she isn't the same. Lucy has to navigate her relationships with those closest to her. The novel is a slow burn and a lot of the questions are answered before the ending. I wish we could get Eden's/Eli's perspective. How does Lucy navigate life after what happens to James? I wanted Lucy to be vindicated for all that James did behind her back. I suppose there was a form of retribution. I wanted her to confront him without doubting herself. I would definitely read another novel by this author.

DNF. Not doing enough to keep me interested and the main pov character is annoying.
Not one for me. I didn’t really relate to the characters and found the whole Eden/Eli storyline confusing and didn’t really understand it even after finishing the book. I guess it’s a ‘marmite’ thing since others have found it captivating.
