Well, it's Q.B so it's all the forbidden and very spicy vibes going on in here. Honestly much better than What Was Meant To Be imo.

well well well, once again, she has blown my mind. i saw a review that said something about how fast theo and avery got together and yes, i agree, this was very instant and very fast butttttt their chemistry really made up for it in my opinion. maybe i say this with every qb tyler book but these two had me kicking my feet and twirling my hair like they were so cute and hot and sexy. i love me an age gap and qb tyler does it the BESSSSST. there was so much angst in this one that just had me UGHHH! i got into a bit of a reading slump half way through reading this but that is not all all a reflection on this book. i loved it and i love qb!!!!!!

The spice was SPICINGGGG! Sheesh. I love a good taboo romance and let me tell you, QB Tyler does it right. This is my first novel by her and I’ll definitely be needing more.

This book follows Theo, a retired NHL star, and Avery, Theo’s son’s best friend. Lucas had loved Avery growing up, but she didn’t return the sentiment because she… likes his dad. After Avery’s college graduation party, things start to develop between Avery and Theo. Both knowing they shouldn’t make it anything serious, they try to keep it casual. We all know how that goes…

"𝑰'𝒅 𝒎𝒂𝒅𝒆 𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒎𝒚 𝒃𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒇𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒅'𝒔 𝒅𝒂𝒅. 𝑨𝒏𝒅 𝑰 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒆."

The banter in this story was TOP TIER. I loved the back and forth between Theo and Avery. She was such a feisty FMC and went after what she wanted. Theo was so protective of Avery and couldn’t help but be there for her when she needed him. The story had angst, tension, spice, everything you need in a smutty book.

-𝑨𝒈𝒆 𝑮𝒂𝒑
-𝑩𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝑭𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒅'𝒔 𝑫𝒂𝒅
-𝑭𝒐𝒓𝒃𝒊𝒅𝒅𝒆𝒏
-𝑪𝒍𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒙𝒊𝒎𝒊𝒕𝒚

Avery has had a crush on her best friend Lucas' dad since she graduated high school and he has just recently within the last year started to see her more as just the girl next door. The two of them start a secret relationship that at first is purely sexual but soon becomes more. Lucas discovers the two of them together at his sister's engagement party and is pissed and hurt and the two decide to break up. Luckily Lucas' anger doesn't last too long and neither does the break up between Avery and Theo who have fallen in love.

I liked this book. Avery was a little immature and Theo obviously was not but I thought the two overall complimented each other. I was happy to read more about Regan and Wes and I was also happy that Lucas was hooking up with Rory at the end of the book. This book was full of steam and some angst but luckily we got a happy ending.
