I will keep this spoiler free, but I hated this book. Hate may actually not be strong enough; I loathed this book. I wanted to like it! I love taboo, age gap, all the tropes but this was...bad. All spice, limited plot, and all of it was bland. I don't know if maybe it's just the writing style that isn't for me, but these characters are so flat it borders on painful. Not a fan.

low-key repetitive. there were some funny moments but the angst wasn’t there, the thing stopping them from being together was dumb. it was very mid but i don’t know what to rate it so i’m not giving one
The worst secret keepers
My biggest issue with this book was that I liked Lucas (sometimes more than even Theo). And Avery was a pretty crappy friend to him.
Other than that the book just feels like a series of spicy time scenes. Don’t get me wrong they are good seggs scenes but after a point I was looking for a plot? But no the same thing kept happening over and over again until the third act breakup, which also lasted for like 5 seconds before the problem was automatically resolved somehow without much effort from anyone. Guys, a blindfolded child would know y’all we’re gonna get caught. I know this is probably deliberately meant to be a low angst book but to me it was just forgettable.

Oh my goodness, Theo is my newest obsession. He was so sexy and smitten and would do just about anything for Avery. That man was everything!! I also really loved how Avery was very sure of herself and what she wanted from Theo and how great their communication on general was. I honestly wished this was longer just so we could see more of them being together and happy after the 3rd act conflict. But the epilogue was pretty satisfying.
Count me in whenever you're counting Q.B. Tyler's fans.
This was so FREAKIN good, QB never disappoints!!
The Worst Kept Secret is an age gap, best friends father and next door neighbor forbidden romance. Avery and Theo both know they shouldn’t develop feelings for each other. Their chemistry WOW and the sneaking around was soooo good “the ferries wheel scene”
Merged review:

QB has done it again. Daddy Theo was everything and then some. I loved the secret hookups, friendships and family dynamics. Theo & Avery were made for each other!!!
Ok, I love me a QB “daddy.” She writes great age-gap/taboo smut, and I am here for it. However… after What Was Meant To Be, this one felt a little flat. Theo and Avery were great with each other, I loved that Avery went for what she wanted. But the surrounding family dynamics felt a little scattered. There was so much going on, and it made it easier to lose the connection between our two leads. Also, the big reveal and resolution felt so rushed. And this is coming from someone that is not a fan of third-act breakups. Again, after Whitney and JP, this felt unsatisfying.
The smut is always good, and the story is fine, but this just isn’t my favorite from this author. What Was Meant to Be, Keep Her Safe, and Always Meant to Be are better, IMO, at balancing all the story aspects that are found in these tropes.
