This was my first QB Tyler read and let’s just say… I understand the hype of her books now! And the spice?! Incredible!

Pretty sure this book is more smut than substance. Not that I’m complaining, I’m just saying. You know the issue with this trope for me is that I’m constantly in edge when they’re not being discreet enough. Also people got over it a bit to quickly? And what about Shawn?!
i can always depend on qb tyler to deliver a spicy, angsty, forbidden love story and the worst kept secret was no exception!
this is a taboo, age gap, best friend's father forbidden romance. i listened to the audio which i thought was incredible! and the ferris wheel scene?! wowzaaaa!!!

OMFG I had the privilege of listening to this via audio and I just have to say this is definitely steamier than JP and Whitney but definitely less angsty as well.
I like how this starts before the book did but they didn't get serious until she was 21 and finished college. Theo is hot af and I'm here for it. Avery is your typical party girl and Theo is the hot fun dad who everyone enjoys being around. I felt bad for Lucas but I also really disliked how he acted like he had a hold on her even though they were never an item.
Now my biggest pet peeve with this story is the way it ended. It didn't need to be high angst like WWMTB but I expected us to get a reaction scene from either Sean or Rebecca.

DNF … hot garbage. It’s ok to write the same stuff over and over if you’re good at it. Timeline and story inconsistencies took me out of this and even the hot scenes couldn’t pull me back in. And I don’t have the patience for another of her grossly desperate FMCs.
OMG, Q.B. does it again! Q.B. is the queen of forbidden / taboo and I absolutely loved this book! This book was so hot! And the spice starts early on! It’s definitely one of her best. I swear her books keep getting better and better!
You’re going to love Avery and Theo. Their chemistry was off the charts! I love the age-gap, best friend’s dad trope, and next door neighbor tropes so this was a total win in my book. Loved all the sneaking around and wait till you get to the ferris wheel scene!

Avery became best friends with Theo’s kids when they moved next door to each other. As they grew up, Theo’s son had feelings for her, but they were never reciprocated because Avery had a crush on his dad. The story starts at her college graduation party when Avery wants to act on her feelings, especially since she knows Theo feels similarly to her after events transpired between them during the past year. As their relationship develops, secrets begin to grow, and so do the difficult conversations about how their relationship will affect his son and her best friend and what price they are willing to pay. While this is happening, there are parallels with Theo’s daughter’s relationship with her older boss (I would like to see more of their story) and everyone growing to accept that. This is everything you would expect from a Q.B. Tyler book, and it has become one of my favorites of hers.
Best friend’s dad?! Yes please!! Absolutely LOVED this book! It was everything I didn’t know I needed and will forever love
