Okay. Love me some Lukas and Ivy! They are so cute together. Lukas is such a dream man! *sigh*

The plot twist at the end with Macy wasn't too bad. I enjoyed it since there was more of an explanation afterwards, but I wish there had been a scene where they confronted Paul on his shitty personality and parenting skills. Ivy didn't deserve that.

It's so sweat that they adopted Hope together. And I'm hoping the Ivy section in the epilogue means Ivy's pregnant?!

I loved this book a lot but I feel like the ending was super rushed. There were so many different conversations and situations that should’ve happened (eg: Ivy and her ex, Ivy and her own daughter) but were instead only very briefly mentioned in the epilogue. Just when the book was starting up with more juicy drama and possible situations that would’ve made the book an easy 5, the book ended abruptly. It just felt very unfinished to me, which really disappointed me because of how much I was loving Lukas and Ivy’s story.

Lukas is perfect! Let's just get that out there first

24 year old tattoo artist and sometimes band member, Lukas, meets our 36 year old recently divorced mother of 2, Ivy, when she decides to get a tattoo to sort of represent her new life after her husband of 18 years cheats on her with a younger woman (cliche to the max!). There's this instant connection between Lukas and Ivy that Lukas can't ignore and Ivy wants to ignore. Um, yes please!

I'll say it again, Lukas is perfect. He's sweet, thoughtful, compassionate, mature, sure of what he wants, doesn't play games, honest, loyal and many other things. His maturity comes from having a life where he was forced to grow up too fast. He craves contentment and stability. He's searching for a life partner and is ready for a full on commitment. His only problem is he can't seem to find the right woman for him. He's not interested in partying and jumping from one woman to the next. He wants a family, and that ladies and gentlemen, is what makes him perfect. After spending some time with Ivy, he knows she's the one for him. He just has to convince her. He is definitely swoon-worthy!

"I don't love much, but when I do, I love hard and fierce." OMG!!! Who doesn't want that?!

Ivy was sweet and a character I liked. Although her life was literally shattered from her husband and the father of her children, she picked herself up and did something for herself. She's immediately attracted to Lukas but tries to brush it off when she learns there's a 12 years age difference between them. Lukas is persistent though and finally breaks through her insecurities of being an older woman. When she finally gives Lukas a chance, she's all in. She doesn't let the fact that he doesn't "look" like her type of guy deter her and she becomes a bit protective and angry when other people throw his looks in her face (piercings, tattoos, long hair). Her ex is a piece of work. He throws away their marriage and family for a new piece of ass and then freaks when she moves on. His actions later in the book are deplorable, to say the least.

Now for the part I hated and my rant:

Ivy's teenage daughter, Macy, annoyed the crap out of me throughout the book. Teenagers suck and are selfish but she took it to a whole other level and wasn't even sorry. Ivy was 18 when she had Macy, just like I was 18 when I had my daughter. I hope to god my child never, ever treats me the way Macy treated Ivy. The way Macy tries to justify her actions and tries to place some of the blame on other people, specifically Lukas, is disgusting. I'm not saying a mother should ever choose a man over their children, because they shouldn't, and Ivy didn't do that. She struggled with getting to the bottom of their little situation and who to trust. I can't say I would have reacted any differently than Ivy though when the truth came out. What Macy did was truly disgusting and inconceivable. It just took selfish to a whole other level when she had such little regard for the woman who gave birth to her, loved her and raised her, and to be able to hurt her own mother the way she did over something so completely meaningless. Ugh, I could go on forever over the selfishness and lack of morals in teenagers but I won't. That was the only thing I hated about this book.

I wasn't sure I would like the older woman/younger man scenario but it works here. Lukas and Ivy work and are good together. Ivy and Lukas got their happy ending (one I wish I could have read a little more of) and even gave us a nice little surprise in the end.

Definitely a good read :-)

“Be a kitten tomorrow. Be a cougar tonight.” This made me fall in love with him. Gotta love his one-liners. What I love even more is that he knows what he wants and he’s not afraid to get it.when Paul and Lukas meet outside the tattoo parlor I loved Lukas even more. the big fight Lukas and Ivy had towards end of book broke me. I could picture the scene and could feel the heartbreak Lukas was going through. I was definitely surprised with the ending!

Mhm...

I love single moms. Love romance stories with a single parent. But the problem with this one was that the kids didn't seem to be so important.
Tommy hardly ever appeared in the scenes and when he did, he was either brought to bed or meeting Lukas for the first time. There was no bonding time between the guys.

Plot?
Again, I had the feeling as if something was missing. The ending was so rushed. We never see the couple as a couple who moves in together, as a couple who has the kids over and that's just a no go for me.
I mentioned that the kids didn't play a vital role which really annoyed me because Ivy thought about them quite often...

Characters?
I loved Lukas - he seems to be one of the few guys in this series who can actually keep his d* in his pants and be in a committed relationship. Anyways, I liked that he was so mature, put together, responsible and hard-working. Plus, he is awesome with Ivy.

Ivy
I liked that she wasn't biased, that she is a great mom and a woman who is hardworking.

Can't really say a lot about Tommy since he was never really in the book.
And then there's Macy, her daughter, I just don't have the words for what she did... Her actions were so out of character and her excuses... I don't know, not many 17 year old girls would do what she did and I just thought it was too much drama that was in there just because drama was needed not because it was so like Macy to do it.
Kinda disappointing.

All in all, I didn't like this one so much...
The ending was again over the top. I don't know what they'll tell Lucas' brother... They made a mess...

I love rockstar romances this definitely hit the spot. Lukas and Ivy are amazing together and the age gap made it so much better.
Definitely a 5 star for me.

Oh how I love a sexy, tattooed, cinnamon roll hero. Lukas was delicious and I adored him completely (I haven't read any others in this series so this was my first introduction to him). While I did like Ivy, I was less than impressed with her reaction to the scene towards the end of the book involving her daughter Macy. It didn't seem genuine-especially after all the communication she and Lukas had had throughout their entire relationship. My heart hurt for him.

Overall I really enjoyed my first foray into Carian Cole's books and look forward to reading more.

Love Lukas. Enjoyable but the end was rushed and some things didn’t make sense.
