I felt like this book had too many details and would have been better with fewer details the author spent more time on. Examples: the FMC’s aversion to putting things in her mouth, the feathers that randomly show up, the idea of soulmates, the possessive ex, MMC’s niece dying, etc. I think these things lost their emotional punch because there was too much, and most of these things didn’t affect the story on their own as much as they should have.

Also, I’m a little offended that one of the MMC’s quirks is that he likes antiques, as if this is one of the only ways a 24 yo man could be attracted to a 36 yo woman. If the genders were reversed, this would not be a thing.

The tattoo artist living in an old church with stained glassed windows. While only 24, he is an old soul and you love him for it. Wanting the wife and family is all Lukas ever wanted. He meets Ivy, an older woman just coming out of an 18 year marriage with 2 kids. He feels the pull, but will she react? The chemistry between Ivy and Lukas is so great, you can't help but root for this couple. He is incredible, literally the perfect man. He has a past with hurt and depression, which he relives with Ivy by his side. She has a jerk(putting it mildly, I wanted to crawl in the book and choke him) of an ex husband, with Lukas showing Ivy her real worth. They are able to work out their age difference, bridge the family, but that is just not enough! There are several twists in this book that were surprising to me...waiting to see how the last one will effect the future of this couple!

Tatiana Sokolov and Nelson Hobbs narrated this dual POV. Love them both. Carian Cole writes incredible emotional books with some humor, gives her characters grit and backbone and picks the best narrators to give the stories life.

2019 re read
Lukas is pretty much perfection. Every once in a while a h or H from a story sticks with you and won’t let go. Lukas does just that every time I read him. I melt every time I read. So darn good

First...why did I wait to read this author?

I loved Lukas! Sweet, smart, witty, possessive without being over the top. I felt rooted in this story. I am a sucker for good characters and every time someone else was introduced I stoped and went and downloaded their book...I was sucked in from the start and couldn't put it down.

I could have lived without the daughter crap but it was handled so well

Seriously such a good read
