I absolutely adored this book.

A Novel Love Story follow Elsy, a woman who is frustrated with feeling stuck in her life and is desperately looking forward to her annual Book Club retreat. But when everyone else cancels, she decides to go alone. On her way to the cabin, she makes a wrong turn in a downpouring storm and when the clouds clear, she realizes she has somehow driven into the small town of Eloraton, the setting of her favorite fictional romance series.

She recognizes everything from the main characters to the town landmarks and is overjoyed to have stepped into her favorite world. The only thing she doesn't recognize is Anders, the grumpy bookstore owner who has never appeared in the books before. Anders wants her to leave before she screws anything up, but Elsy is drawn to her favorite characters, especially once she realizes they are not so perfect as they are on the page.

I remember when I read this concept and saw this cover, I was immediately on board. Imagine stepping into your favorite fictional setting like Stars Hollow or Inglewild and you get to experience everything you've only ever seen on page? I was in love with the idea and couldn't wait to read it.

This book felt like a love letter in the best of ways. It not only felt like a letter of love to small town romances (my absolute favorite trope) but also a love letter from an author to readers who fully embrace fictional worlds. It shows that a story is never just a story, but a world that can bond people together and bring comfort and joy to those who need it.

I couldn't put it down and cannot wait for my physical copy to show up in the mail so I can display it proudly on my shelf. This cover is gorgeous and I can't wait to read this book again and again.

Cute romance with an interesting twist. I wish they explored the premise of the town a bit more, like was she hallucinating or ? But super cozy and cute.
