The way Ashley Poston writes makes me believe I can pick up a book of hers whenever I want to, immerse myself in the story and relish it.
With this book, just like The Seven Year Slip, you have this magical aspect to the story that merges with the reality that relationships like these exist, somewhere in this world; that make the story memorable and nostalgic even if its the first time reading it.
These are books that read steadily, and so is the growing love for them. At least in my case, I enjoyed the journey, I got emotional, I almost cried once and I smiled ear to ear many times.
But when I finish them, it isn’t like with other books where I jump up and down, or become totally numb, or excited or devastated. These books end and you sit there, content that you read them because they might make you think about things from your own life. They do not leave you with overwhelming emotions but with a lingering thoughtfulness that just tugs at the right heart strings.
And yes this is for both The Seven Year Slip and A Novel Love Story (because they’re the only ones I have read of the author). Ashley Poston does not miss in making me feel vulnerable in a beautiful way

this was so sweet. ashley poston continues to dazzle me with her warm writing and her creative concepts. i also loved all her easter eggs and crossovers w her other books. it’s very emily henry of her. long live the APCU (ashley poston cinematic universe).
i will say, this book personally didn’t really hit as hard as her others. i found the romance to be a bit rushed and i wasn’t too attached to any of the characters. unfortunately, i also found myself cringing a bit more than normal.
i don’t have much to say besides i overall enjoyed it and it felt like a warm hug!!

If you’re seeking romance and magic, Ashley Poston’s writing will never disappoint.
The characters in this book are lovely, and the story had a lot of potential. However, I believe we could have explored Anders and Elsy’s relationship and backstories further.
This book is certainly aimed at romance book fans, and once again, Ashley Poston leaves us hanging by a thread until the very end. We’re left wondering if there will be a happy ending and whether it’s the one we hope for.

Love the title
Sweet and cozy, but a bit too cheesy
Not a fan of the audio book narration
