Well that dug around in my soul and um, wow do I feel very seen. I might need to go crawl in a hole and cry for a few hours but too bad cause I'm at work. Wonderful and vulnerable and painful and beautiful and full of love. Crieesssss

C'est mignon, c'est touchant. Abordant des thèmes peu abordés, l'aromantisme et l'asexualité, ça fait du bien de voir un peu de représentation. Je me suis assez reconnue dans le personnage principal et ça fait du bien. À part ça, je trouve la plume bien trop simpliste, clairement orientée pour jeunes ados et pas assez mature pour moi. L'histoire reste extrêmement clichée, très prévisible et avec peu de surprises. Si le roman n'abordait pas les thèmes d'aro/ace, je ne sais pas si je serais allée jusqu'au bout, pas parce que le livre est "mauvais", mais parce que je ne pense pas être la cible au niveau âge et écriture.
going to try and write a coherent review beyond “i needed this rn” bc i am genuinely on the verge of a breakdown i did not realize how much this book was going to meant to me i just. alice knew what they were doing with this one. they knew and they delivered and i actually lied because i don’t think i can coherently talk about this because that feels vulnerable but just,, thanks alice. thank you georgia and pip and rooney and sunil and jason.

The representation of aro/ace is very important, and I wanted to like this book - but unfortunately, it turned out to be painfully dull.
The book is extremely repetitive. We see everything through the eyes of a young girl who thinks the same things over and over and over again.
For two-thirds of the book, nothing happens. And when something finally does happen to some characters, other characters ask what happened, and the author describes it all again - so we have to read it again.
Then, after that, the story descends into boring miscommunication drama.
This book about representation could have been so much more if not for the mediocre writing.

I really enjoyed this story. Definitely going to read even more of Alice Oseman’s books!
