I love this series and Weston and Isabella are adorable. After two months together, eight years ago, Weston Caldwell left a note for Isabella Cage Dixon and walked out of her life. No real explanation, nothing, but now Isabella is in Cage Lake working with her family, old and new, and trying to escape her stalker. With all of her overprotective brothers hovering around her, Weston decides he will be the one keeping an eye on Isabella and making sure she is safe.

This story is wonderful. The words flow into a story of love, second chances and lost love. Of course the underlying theme of found family and working to make sure they keep the family legacy intact by abiding by the stipulations in their father's will adds depth to the characters. The honesty that happens between these two characters, when Isabella finally realizes why Weston had to leave, bring a level of intimacy to them that is just as much to the forefront as the heat.

This is a beautifully written story that really needed to be written and I can't wait for the next in the series.

This is the second book in the Cage family series and it's full of emotion and so much more.
Isabella is still coming to turns with her family drama and siblings she didn't know before but now works for their family business.
While in Cage Lake she comes face to face with her past love Weston and finds out he lives there. But he walked away from her 8 years ago and she's not sure she can trust him with her future.
When her former stalker is set on finding her will Weston and the small town of Cage Lake be able to keep her safe?
A must read full of drama, suspense and so much love and friendship.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

Isabella has to let her family take care of her for once after spending her life being their caregiver. So she's let them bring her to the small town of Cage Lake, where her newly discovered siblings live and practically own the town. She surely was not expecting to see the man who broke her heart years ago. The man who spent a summer making her fall in love him, only to leave her with a short note. Yeah, that man. But though Weston broke her heart, he never left it, and all those feelings are coming alive again after being in such close proximity. A second chance is on the horizon, if her past doesn't ruin it, and if they can get past the heartbreak they were left with before.

Weston never forgot Isabella, always regretted the way he had to leave her, without a reason given for his departure. But now she's here in his small town, and he sees his chance for forgiveness, and if she lets him, to have it all. If he can protect her from her past, and show her that he can be trusted with her heart again, that second chance can be theirs.

I love that Isabella finally let her family care for her, protect her. She was always their caregiver, and now was the time to let them return all that love. Thank God she did, because it brought her back to Weston. And what a man to come back to - he's so caring, so sweet, and just begging her to see how much they could have with each other if she'd forgive him and open her heart back up to him. Carrie's stories always get me in the heart, but Isabella and Weston are somehow even more heartfelt and heart-tugging than is her usual. I fell so hard for them as I was reading, I think they just may be my favorite couple of hers yet.

We return to the Cage family, I’m really enjoying them, but it’s tough keeping them all straight lol. Weston and Isabella had a past, and there was some past hurt. Years pass, and when she shows up in his town, sparks fly. Things ignite, there is of course some drama when everything is almost lost. I found the Twins hilarious. Love the family dinners.  Cant wait to see where their love takes them!

I loved everything about this book.
I just got caught up and invested in Isabella and Weston.
Isabella stole my heart. The way she takes care of everyone she loves.
The protector and caregiver of her siblings. It’s like it’s ingrained in her DNA.
So have a new set of brothers and trying and learning to lean on them is a new and difficult challenge.
Weston was put in a situation where he had to step up for his younger siblings.
He had to make a lot of difficult choices and decisions.
Sometimes to his own detriment.
One of those heartbreaking decisions was leaving Isabella.
Weston broke Isabella’s heart eight years prior.
He just left her without any sort of explanation or apology. No letter, no answers.
But no matter how many years have passed I could feel their chemistry.
I could also feel all the emotions and feelings brewing along side the physical.
The sadness, the resentment, the regret and the longing.
The way Weston left wasn’t the best way to end things.
But I admired his integrity, commitment and dedication to his siblings.
Just like I admired Isabella’s loyalty to her siblings.
The suspense added to this second chance at love just made the story that much more compelling.
It heighten it without taking anything away from it.
I absolutely loved the small town setting. The characters of the town. Perfect!
As also with a Carrie Ann Ryan book. When I finished the book I had a big smile on my face.
And my heart and soul were content.

This is a story of second chances and love rekindled.  Bella has secrets she tried to keep from her family until she is assaulted in the parking lot at work.  Her brother scare him off and she tells them what is happening.  They want her to go to Cage Lake and lay low for awhile.  She is hesitant because the last time she was there her former lover Weston saved her from the edge of a mountain.  Weston left Bella after two months with a note that had no explanation and never heard from him again.  She doesn’t want to open her heart however she realizes she still has feelings.  Weston left Bella when his parents were killed, he took over raising his 10 year old twin sisters and his 18 year old brother.  He never looked back until he saved Bella.  Both are afraid to try again, however they calm one another and hope this is a second chance for them.  Both families are rooting for them and as the love grows so do fears.  This a great second chance story that helps Bella find her self and her place in the family.

I loved this story. Isabella definately needed to let her hair down. Running back into Weston the way she did was a fabulous way to start the story. The entire dynamic of all the Cages is absolutely funny. We can all relate to this family dynamic. And Dorian, well he’s just too funny. I love the seriousness of Weston raising his family. It offsets Isabella being the strong, fierce one with her siblings and now the other cage brothers. This has become an all inclusive family relationship. Carrie Ann writes strong, intelligent women, who may have gone through things but it doesn’t deter them from remaining who they are at their core. And the men, especially Weston, are fiercely, protective,
cinnamon rolls. Again this story was🫠. Teddy Hamilton was a perfect choice for Weston.  And Emma Wilder~pure perfection. These Voice Actors really know how to bring all the emotions to table and make us feel every word that was written.

When The Cage Family series started, I was instantly intrigued by Isabella. She came out of the gate swinging, fiercely protective of her younger siblings and distrustful of her seven new brothers. I mean, who wouldn’t be? These were the men who grew up with her despicable father…who knows if any or all followed in his footsteps. Obviously, she finds out this isn’t the case nd both families are finding their way through this new relationship. She’s as protective as ever, but her edges have soften, a bit. But she has more history and trauma that she is hiding, and it all comes out when she moves …temporarily…to Cage Lake. There we meet Weston Caldwell, a man she’s very familiar with, who happens to live in town, is one of her new brothers’ best friend, and who left her years ago with no explanation. It was not a joyful run-into-each-others-arms reunion. Weston didn’t want to leave her, but a family emergency called him home, and he just never seemed to have had the time or bandwidth the get in touch with her. Okay, not gonna lie, this was a problem for me. Lord save me from the MMC who doesn’t want to “burden” the woman he loves by “ forcing” her to give up her dreams to be with him, when he can’t leave his small town. This is Weston’s big flaw for me. Otherwise, the guys is almost saint-like, giving up his dreams to raise his siblings. But on the other hand…he was in his late 20’s when it happened. He wasn’t a child, pick up the damn phone! Anyhoo…I liked them, together and separately. I love their relationships with their own siblings, and as the story develops, with each others. She becomes much less prickly, he isn’t such a grump…but the communication is still not 100%: Speak the words, people. So, there’s some angst (not all of it just this reader’s) but there’s lightness and humor, sweetness and heat. Bella and Weston were great and their story was a wonderful addition to the series.

When Isabella escapes to Cage Lake to hide out for her protection, what she’s not expecting to find is a blast of the past. There he was, Weston Caldwell, the man who left her heart shattered when he left her with a note and no explanation years ago. Little did she know, he was hiding a secret from her and certainly did have reason to disappear that day. Can they let the past  be in the past so they can get their second chance or will something major get in the way?
Carrie Ann Ryan once again makes us fall in love with the characters in her series. Follow each of their journeys in the Cage series and listen to the audiobook to immerse yourself in the world!

I received this as an arc/alc from the author and I’m voluntarily leaving my honest review.

This was an amazing second chance romance. It had such a wonderful flow and was just so well written. Weston and Isabella were characters that I couldn’t help loving, they had a great bond and so much chemistry. I just didn’t want their story to end.

Audiobook review: This was a joy to listen to. I loved it when the narration enhances my reading experience and this one did just that. The narrators did such a wonderful job capturing the emotions of the story and the characters.
