Have you ever read an entire series, finished the last book, and felt let down because the final book didn’t leave the series on a high note? Fear not, friends. That is NOT the case with Max Monroe’s The Redo, the final book of their Winslow Brothers’ series. In fact, I will state it plainly here: it’s my favorite of the four. If I had to put the Winslow Brothers in order (they would both love and hate this. Jude would brag, believing he had the best story, while Ty jibes him that his is the best. Flynn would stay silent and judge Jude and Ty, caring little for my thoughts on his story, and Remy would tell them all to shut up and let me speak.). For me, my favorite stories in order belong to Remy, Flynn, Jude, and finally, Ty (oh how he’d hate that).
Remy and Maria’s story embodies the best of the Winslow family. Remy is a natural protector, borne in his father’s absence. The way that he looks over Maria absolutely melts your heart. Fate brings them together so that Maria has the support missing in her life. As Remy steps in and cares for her, you would think that their relationship would be uneven, However, Max Monroe have carefully constructed Remy and Maria’s relationship with Maria caring for Remy protectively as well. Remy and Maria are suited: they laugh, cry, and find joy in each other. Maria is a veritable heroic beast in her own right. I won’t share her story, but she’s the type of heroine who makes you proud to be a woman. And Remy is her perfect partner.
Max Monroe take their time in developing the relationship, however. Putting a name on their relationship creates a relationship slowburn. Physically, though, their chemistry is too combustible to make them wait too long. Using the past and present to tell Remy and Maria’s second chance at love story, Max Monroe have deftly plotted out Maria and Remy’s romance. Max Monroe warned of the girth of this story; however, nothing is extraneous with this book. It is precisely as it should be.
This story, along with the other books in the series, has quickly become one of my favorite series. It has some of the seriousness of The Girl in the Painting (my fav Max Monroe), and it has Max Monroe’s trademark humor. However, where the humor of their other stories sometimes feels canned and a bit obvious, The Redo’s humor isn’t as obvious. There is a sweetness to Remy and Maria’s journey that feels perfect for them. Instead, Max Monroe have carefully crafted humorous moments that match Remy and Maria’s journey. There is a specific carnival experience that made me laugh out loud. And the bonus epilogue is a wonderful mix of sentimentality and comicality. In fact, this is one of my favorite bonus epilogues, wrapping up this series beautifully.
Max Monroe’s The Redo is an apt reminder that a well-told second chance romance is heaven. Remy and Maria’s story will leave you with a huge book hangover. While I’m sad to say goodbye to the Winslow clan, I believe Max Monroe left us with one heck of a series from start to finish.

3.5/5⭐️
the first half of the book really kept me occupied, its an interesting novel, the plot is one i never know before. elevator’s scene really make me nervous but other than that, i kept skipped the scenes.

It’s not my first kiss, but damn, it feels like it. Every other kiss before this one feels like an impostor. A fake.
This book... it was absolutely beautiful. From not one but two "re-meet cutes" in an elevator, to dealing with a grief that is so real and raw, to life with a newborn... and then you've got the wonderful romance being rekindled between high school sweethearts Remy and Maria. This book was everything I didn't know I wanted and then some. I laughed, I cried and I was so sad when it was over! I'll miss those Winslows!! They truly are a special family!

From the first book in the Winslow series, I knew Remy would be my favorite. Always caring for his family, looking out for everyone, and how he loves his autistic niece? Omg. ❤️
Him running into his high school sweetheart when they get stuck in an elevator during a summer blackout was actually quite adorable, as was the recurring theme of elevators throughout the book. This was, hands down, my favorite Max Monroe book to date (which says a lot because Kline Brooks and Jude Winslow both are held in high regard as book boyfriends in my brain).

The perfect ending...
This series has been such a freaking treat, and it's honestly bittersweet that it's over.

The only other book in this series I have read is the one before this, The Secret, which I loved! And I was very excited to start Remy's story after seeing him in The Secret. And truly Remy is so swoony and just wants to take care of those who loves, even when it ends up being people he wasn't expecting.
Remy and Maria, who were high school sweethearts over 20 years ago, reconnect thanks to getting tracpped in an elevator together one afternoon. When Remy notices she is VERY pregnant, it soon comes out that it is with her sister's baby, who she is now set to raise due to a horrible accident taking her sister and brother in law from her. Even though Remy gives Maria his number, she doesn't get in tough - certain her life is too much drama. However, fate has different plans, when they reconnect ONCE again on an elevator and in much more exciting and life changing cirumstances. From there on out, it soon becomes impossible for Maria to keep Remy out of her life - because he is insistent on taking care of her and that precious baby, even when she thinks she doesn't need it. But soon it becomes clear there is much more there than just wanting to help with a baby. But are they risking to risk their heart on it all again, after they both have gone so long certain they were never meant to be with someone??
There were parts of this I LOVED . I adored Maria and her story brought me to tears. She is such a strong character, and the way she loves Izzy and fights through struggles we couldn't imagine was beautiful. I lovedddd Remy and his knight in shining armor ways, wanting to care for and protect Maria in any ways she will let him. I loved seeing them reconnect, and always love seeing the glimpses into their past.
But I also had parts that I felt lacked. I thought we should have gotten so much more about what happened 20 years in the past to not just break them up but keep them from ever speaking since. I felt like we could have dug more into Maria and how she has coped/still struggling to cope with all the things life has thrown at her. And I would have wanted to dig a bit more into Remy and how he has healed from what happened in his past.
But overall, I really enjoyed this book, and I for sure need to go back and read the first 2 in the series now, to round it out!
