a short, light, whimsical read with a deep message. Some words that I think all of us need to hear. This book talks about the constant “climb” for success, constantly working towards something yet not completely understanding what that goal is. We only find happiness once we let go of that and see the bigger picture. The art is very appealing to the eyes– the little creatures are so stupid looking that you can’t help but like them.

Simple yet exquisite. Such a beautiful way of capturing what it means to seek, desire, and transform.

good children's book that teaches you to follow your heart and the desire to achieve great things in life, to not care for what other people think is possible or isn't, to not follow other's like mindless sheep.

to go your own way and fly.

My mum gave me this and I like that it can be applied to so many situations. It has messages of following your own path, not the one you've been told is right, and of being brave enough to leave your old self behind in order to live a better, more free life. As well as showing how living your "best life" can encourage others to try to do the same.

Both have been hard things for me to do in my life. I have a lot of trauma and have struggled with my mental health because of it. It took a lot of battling myself to get to the point where I was finally brave enough to seek help and venture off the path I'd always been told was correct.

This book made me feel a lot of validation in my journey so far. I'm sure it will resonate to different people in different ways, but I appreciate Hope For the Flowers for this.

The minimalist art style of the drawings are also really cute and correlate with the tone of the various parts of the stores really well!

I read this to my oldest tonight, who is 4, and I loved it even more than I remember loving it when I was younger. It's such a good allegory - and there's something here for everyone. I'm pretty sure I need to read it at least once a quarter.
