Jupiter is the new player of The New York Lions baseball team.
He is covered in tattoos, broody, self centered prick.
Marnie is a doctor in Astrodynamics. She, after her divorce, decided to completely change her life moving to New York and taking this job for the same club.
And all starts with a magnificent slap.
Jupiter and Marnie know each other. He broke her heart in millions of pieces when he got drafted when he was 18…
But now, he will do anything to get her back.

Tropes:
- Second chance romance
- MMC madly in love in high school
- smart FMC
- audiobook narrated by Mia Madison and Patrick Zeller

This is real baseball romance with real sport researches to make it concrete.
What I loved the most?
The way that Lulu describes perfectly a young love and an adult love. This is an emotional story with the right amont of spice and love declaration.

NASA girlie/ tattooed broody baseball player
14 year time jump
Forced Proximity in the workplace
“Ive never stopped loving you…”

I loved this book so much. I’m usually not a fan of the 2nd chance trope but Jupiter and Marnie stole my heart from the first page. I just love how adamant Jupiter was at winning her back and all of the little things he did for her.

I didn't enjoy how forced the second chance was in this story. If Jupiter and Marnie had found themselves united by chance instead of him meddling and using his fame to pull strings it would have felt less creepy.

I get that Jupiter never stopped loving her, but he comes across as creepy, like a puppet master who will get what he wants no matter how Marnie feels.

A lot of other small details seemed pointless, like why bother making her married/divorced when it isn't even an obstacle. If she has still been married or working on the divorce when she and Jupiter reunited it could have been a lovely little speed bump in his plan.

All that aside, I did enjoy the flashbacks!

The Third Baseman is the first book that I've read by author Lulu Moore and I thought it was an enjoyable read. I won't lie I thought the beginning of the book was a little slow, so it took me a minute to get immersed in the story, but once I was in, I was in.
The main trope of this book was that this is a second chance romance, and from the get go I did not see how they are going to end up together. Because of the way that the male lead, Jupiter Reeves, ended his relationship with Marnie Matthews after he got drafted I was like yeah... She should hate his guts. But as the book goes on and you see their past, and Jupiter's reasons for ending their relationship, I mean he was 18 and she was 16 almost 17 so... don't hate on a teenager for being an idiot.
I loved how grumpy Jupiter was around everyone EXCEPT Marnie. She was the only person who made his happy, and I just thought was so cute. And while Marnie wasn't exactly the sunshine personality that you'd typically find in a grumpy-sunshine trope, I do think when she wasn't mad at Jupiter/around other people she was typically very happy, especially when she's looking at the stars.

I've been curious about Jupiter Reeves since he was in Drew's book. I haven't read any book from The New York Lions series so, I gave it a go.

There's something that has to be said about a guy who knows what he wants and gets it whatever it takes. That, my friend, is Jupiter Reeves.

I'm a real sucker for second-chance romance and I loved Lulu Moore included the high school parts of Marnie and Jupiter. There were definitely swoon and aaawww-filled. I felt that scene on the porch so much, it made me cry. I was also hurting on Marnie's behalf.

This book shows that if two people are meant to be, it will happen. Can't wait for Ace and Lux's books!
