It’s been so good to be back with the New York Lions! I was very intrigued about what happened between Jupiter and Marnie when I met them in The Show, and I’m so happy to have read their story. I love them both, even though they frustrated me at times. That grand gesture was just… chef’s kiss amazing! Can’t wait to read more about this baseball team!

This book was so good!! I loved everything about Jupiter and Marnie's relationship, even the chapters from the past, and I don't usually like when books switch from past to present, but it was just so sweet to read about their relationship in high school. All of Lulu Moore's female characters are so smart and strong, and I really enjoyed getting to see all of them come together during this book. I've loved everything I've read from this author so far, and I can't wait to read all her future books!! They're all just so light-hearted and fun, and I love how they all connect to each other in some way.

I received an eARC from Valentine PR and the author in exchange for my honest review.

This is the first book in Lulu Moore’s The New York Lion baseball series. There are characters that show up from her other series, but it not necessary to read before going into this one.

Jupiter and Marnie dated in high school. Once Jupiter was drafted to the Dodgers he dumped Marnie and they haven’t seen each other for 14 years. Marine went on to work for NASA become an actual rocket scientist. Out of the blue Marine gets a job offer that is too good to pass up to work for the New York Lions, who also just so happen to acquire a hot grumpy tatted 3rd baseman, Jupiter.

I absolutely loved this story. The storytelling is so well put together from present day to flashbacks both timelines add to the depth and richness to the characters. I loved how Marnie did not give in right away to Jupiter and his swoon. Bc let’s face it, the things he does for Marnie and Marnie alone, is ….well swoony. They both go through an emotional roller coaster and the angst at moment had my heart breaking. Their journey back to one another was absolute perfection though. This one definitely made me laugh, cry and swoon. And of course we can’t forget the spice was amazing!

Thank you to Valentine PR and Lulu Moore to the eARC.

I waited so long for this book! Baseball has a special place in my heart, I just love this sport. Add spice on top of it, yes please. This book I truly enjoyed so much!!! It was such a cute reason, and the little nods to Coldplay! Yes!! I didn’t like how long it did take to get right into the relationship, but once it did I was so excited the way the book kept going and ended! 🥹

Jupiter Reeves is officially my favorite book boyfriend from Lulu Moore. I loved every grumpy thing about him from the glimpses we saw in The Show and the that times a thousand in The Third Baseman.

14 years ago he broke up with his high school girlfriend the day he was drafted to the Dodgers but has never been able to move on from him. Every single one of his tattoos represents Marnie Matthews and their high school loves. So when the opportunity presents itself that he can use his move to a new baseball team to reconnect with Marnie he makes it a condition of his contract.

Marnie doesn’t hold the same exact feelings of excitement that Jupiter does when they reconnect but watching Jupiter work his way back into her good graces was amazing to watch. Yes at times he was stubborn and probably in the wrong but it was so obvious his love for her that it’s impossible to stay mad at him. I loved this book and loved spending the opening weekend for MLB with this book. Cannot wait to find out who the next book will be centered around
