5⭐️’s x♾️! I loved this book so much!!! This was my intro to Lulu Moore and I was hooked from the start! The second chance trope always gets me in my feels and I loved everything about Marnie and Jupe’s relationship, past and present, even if that meant experiencing their heartbreak in between. Jupiter def had me swooning and I’m adding him to my list of fave book bf’s.

4.5

I think I'm in my sports romance era • this was my first baseball romance and now I need more!

this story starts with us meeting Jupiter while he breaks Marnie's heart for reasons unknown & reuniting 14 years later! Jupiter is not backing down in making Marnie his again. So we see the journey between these 2 from their high school days to now reuniting in the present!

it was a beautiful story, full of love & fight to get to the home run of their relationship! If you love sports romance then you need to pick this one up!

now I need to go back and read her New York Players series, where we first meet Jupiter!

it was okay

I saw this book all over bookstagram and I love me some second chance romance books. But this one missed the mark for me. It was slow burn, which I usually love, but it just wasn’t done right in my opinion. And I was told that Jupiter was a grump more than his actions.

4/5

Wasn’t wild about this one. I found the rocket scientist working for a baseball team to be a stretch and I wasn’t crazy about Jupiter’s character. He just seemed incredibly cocky to me and his outlet on things just bothered me!!

"The Third Baseman" by Lulu Moore is a second-chance romance that hits all the right notes for fans of love lost and found. The story follows Jupiter Reeves, the surly, tattooed, and undeniably talented third baseman, who’s more than just the bad boy of baseball—he’s a man on a mission to win back the heart of his high school sweetheart, Marnie Matthews. After being traded to the New York Lions, Jupiter is determined not just to secure the Commissioner's Trophy but also to convince Marnie to give him another shot.

Jupiter is the kind of moody, cocky, yet utterly swoon-worthy hero that makes your heart skip a beat. His tattoos tell the story of his love for Marnie, and despite the tough exterior, it’s clear that she’s the one who makes him melt. But Jupiter’s got his work cut out for him—Marnie is no pushover. She’s a rocket scientist (yes, really!) who’s smart, independent, and not about to let the man who broke her heart just waltz back into her life without a fight. Watching Jupiter go all out to win her back, in an adorably obsessed yet determined way, is both heartwarming and a little bit unhinged—in the best possible way.

I loved every moment of this book. It’s super sweet with just the right amount of angst, and Jupiter’s attempts to melt Marnie’s heart kept me smiling throughout. The flashbacks to their high school days added depth to their love story, making their reunion even more satisfying. The side characters also bring a lot of charm, adding to the story’s warmth and making you root even harder for Jupiter and Marnie’s happily ever after. Their bond is special, and despite all the obstacles, you just know they’re destined to be endgame.

If you’re into second-chance romances with a swoon-worthy sports hero, a brilliant heroine who makes him work for it, and a love story that spans years, "The Third Baseman" is a must-read. The chemistry between Jupiter and Marnie is electric, the flashbacks tug at your heartstrings, and the whole book will leave you grinning from ear to ear.
