I couldn’t put this down! But somehow it still felt like nothing happened? I do love the magic system and this story line. Can’t wait for the next one. I was confused about the rabbit at times. But I liked how they brought the characters like mercy and turner into the story.

Ugh! I was so disappointed by this book. I LOVED Ninth House and Hell Bent had none of its propulsiveness, in fact it was down right boring most of the time.

I'm thinking back on how eager I was to read this sequel to the series after finishing the first book, but I must admit that Hell Bent did not live up to my expectations. I found this sequel to be inconsistent in not only its characters and pace, but in the overall ambiance as well. The little things that slightly bothered me before in Bardugo's writing felt more noticable.

I truly enjoyed the plot but do feel it could have been carried out stronger.

No Spoilers.

I listened to it on Libby. After listening to Ninth House, I was hoping this one would be better. I would say it was about the same in the ratings. 3.75 stars. I did enjoy most of it, but it did feel dragged on some and left me lost on what exactly was going on. In some parts, I was like oh yes, this is going to be better and then it was back to a letdown. Maybe this was a right book, wrong book kind of situation for me. If there ends up being a third book in the future and I remember about this, maybe I will read it next time before the third and see if I just need to read it instead of listening to it. I also wanted Alex and Darlington to just get together, that tension drove me crazy! I did enjoy the growth of Alex as a character, though.

Would I recommend this book? To certain people, that I know would enjoy it. I wouldn't recommend to just anyone due to that I do not think they would enjoy it.

The sequel to Ninth House starts where the story previously left off. Pretty similar to Ninth House both in story telling, style, and plot arc. Dark academia meets magic in Yale. It is definitely YA and should have been labelled as such. But beyond that, it is a pretty good YA book.

Definitely loved this one more than the first. Love the dark academia

I finished this back in March and my goodness it was good! I finished it and felt so satisfied, I feel like that's why I've been subconsciously avoiding reading ever since. As if this hit all the spots and I didn't need anything else right now.

And it's totally worth that, too! This series was the perfect level of dark and magical that I know if I ever see something being compared to it, I know that will be a must try.

It's been a while since I reviewed something so I'm feeling off but just know I cannot wait for the next installment and I look forward to diving back into hell whenever the time comes.
