Generally, I have liked this serie.
But it would've been way better if it had 50 pages more and it didn't end rather anticlimatic.
I can't say I didn't enjoy reading it, but the trend of not finishing the book properly, "she woke up 2 weeks after *things* happened" just isn't fun to read and ends it on some weird form of blue balls.

This is the last last book in the Hex Hall Trilogy and the journey of Sophie, Jenna, Elodie, Archer and Cal come to an end. It was a joy and pleasure to read. there are not very many series out there that tie all ends nicely.

Compared to the first two books in the series, this one is a bit slow until the end. Kind of disappointing.

I think this may end up being my favorite book of the series. While I enjoyed the previous two, they didn't quite grasp me and pull me in the way Spell Bound did. Maybe it was the end of the world dramatics, maybe it was the constant state of fear that one of my favorite characters was going to die. I don't know what it was, but it was there.

And on my favorite characters did die...I predicted it when I started the book, but didn't actually believe myself. While reading this characters death scene, I thought the author did a great job in staying true to the character. So while I was extremely sad, it was fitting.

Sophie grew up a lot in this book. She was still her smart ass self, but there was a weight to her that hadn't been there before. She was no longer a flighty teenager just worried about what was going to happen to her, she was now worred about the fate of her kind and the magical world in general. The background stories that were released here - Sophie's mother, Archer's parents - were great additions.

I know that a lot of people had problems with the ending, thinking that it left too much open, but I feel that while there were some questions unanswered, they were ones that the author wanted you to fill in. Sophie's story was told, and while I would love to see more and see what happens with her new found role, I am satisifed with where this one ends.

This book was action packed. There was no second in the book where boring stuff was happening. there were a lot of twists and surprises and this was by far my favorite ending to a trilogy. I can't say much about this book because I would probably spoil something because this book is never boring

I loved the ending to this series. Although it doesn't TOTALLY feel like an ending. I'm not ready to say goodbye to the characters. That said, the series was a great read.

This series is exactly what it needs to be.

I started Spell Bound and we were deep in 5-star territory. Rachel Hawkins is eerily good at setting a fast pace, fleshing out all the cast of characters and all the while keeping up Sophie's steady stream of snappy dialogue that keeps me laughing. The stakes were high, the drama was present and I was ripping through the pages.

The fifth star was lost when a decision was made at about the 75% mark. I won't say more beyond that the decision made me sad, but not especially angry.

The fourth star was lost when the end of the book DID SOMETHING BAD THAT DID MAKE ME ANGRY. I won't launch into a ranty, spoilery review but I was traumatised after finishing. Not the direction I wanted the book to go in AT ALL. Also, the finale (aside from the thing that shall no be named) felt a little rushed - I would have appreciated it more if there had been a little more time spent at the final showdown.

Aside from disagreement with the path the book trod, there is no denying that Spell Bound neatly concluded a series that has delighted me from the start and I am super keen to revisit the Hex Hall world and hope Ms Hawkins will oblige at some point. When her next book is out, I will be at the front of the queue.

Spell Bound was a satisfying conclusion to Sophie's story. The novel moves along at a good clip with Sophie's trademark snark along for the ride. I didn't enjoy Spell Bound quite as much as Hex Hall and Demonglass. The pacing just wasn't as well done in Spell Bound and parts of the story felt a little rushed to me, including the climax. I think this bit of the story just took place over too short of a time period. Still, I enjoyed it and I really liked the Hex Hall trilogy overall. I am intrigued enough by Izzy,
